I notice that there a lot of places are starting to require BEds. So do you have any formal teaching quals?
I have a BA in education. But got involved in politics so don't have enough practical papers to get registered.

I have a BA in International Relations with a minor in East Asian Studies...
I have some informal teaching experience, though only with older students and here I teach primary school kids. Aside from both my mother and sister being teachers and effectively being taught by them, I've been a Teaching Assistant in college and also taught some high school art classes for a week here and there. Little kids scare the hell outta me though and that's before I learned what "dong chim" meant. |

I'm going to piss some people off with this one, but I'm of the opinion that professors at Universities should have some real-life experience working outside of the University before they are allowed to teach.
Their pay should reflect this in some way -- not sure how, but it should.
The best professors I had were the ones who actually DID something other than be a teacher ever since they got out of school.
I'd rather learn to ride a horse from someone who has ridden a horse -- not someone who spent 6+ years in school learning about how to ride one. |

yeah, why don't you make us all feel sour.
Bachelor of Arts degree/ Master's degree in science.
Taught a tiny bit in the States. In Korea have been through the hogwon system, public school system, (girls high school), Teacher training school, summer camps, Univeristy freshmen, advanced (so called) university students, Kids, Middle schoolers... not too much I haven't taught here in Korea...but as of yet, no formal teaching degree or certificate..... |
