I'm impressed with how many countries many of you have travelled to.
As for me:
Canada, Mexico, USA
Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore
England, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Italy, Greece
Not as many as most of you, but compared to my friends back home who have never travelled abroad, I have them beat easily. |

Places lived: at least one year or more --
Korea, the US military academy West Point, NY, Washington state, Alaska, Colorado, Mons Belgium (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe)
Places visited: Saudi Arabia (not really a visit first gulf war) France, Germany, Egypt, Philippines, Thailand, Malasia, Taiwan, Mexico, Canada
Favorites: Thailand, Paris France. Paris is the Second most beautiful city in the world that I've personally been to and I don't like big cities. I'm from Seattle and there is no place better on earth during late July through August than Seattle. The French were very polite, sophisticated, helpful and not snobby at all. And the city itself is absolutely fabulous
Worst: Mons Belgium. One of the few places where you drive one hour north and you're in a totally different world where the people speak English, smile and are really friendly. Southern Belgium is the pits. Dirty, rude people with a bunch of morracans running around in gangs looking to jump their next unsuspecting victims. Well that's for another forum.
oh, Mexico is a very close second...I'll never step foot in that country again either. |

Actually, I really hate these name dropping lists.
Who cares where someone has been? I'm more interested in what people have done and how long they stayed abroad.
Someone might be able to drop 50 countries in a list, but they may only have stayed for a couple of days in each and experienced basically nothing. Most people just follow the tired old backpacker route, letting their guesthouse organize the next part of their tour, or blindly follow the big old arrows on the front map in their LP, now there's real travel.....
OK, I'm being a little judgemental, but I'd rather meet someone who can only list one country but say they have climbed several 7000 and 8000 peaks, or somebody who has done some insane cycle tour, I'm sure they have a few more adventurous stories to tell and are possibly more developed as a person than someone who can list a few countries they've been to.
Anyways, happy name dropping.
Enjoy your next holiday. |

24 countries, to date, not counting Hong Kong & Macau, which would make it 26. And yes, I know they're now part of China.
I've also been to Mexico & the US (Nm, Tx, Co, Ut, Ne, Ar, Ca, Ha) but these don't appear on TE yet:
