Hello,
I'm going to be flying to Korea soon. I hope to leave within a week or two. I'm looking at flights and they are all about $2000 from Toronto to Seoul. Does anyone know how much GEPIK will re-imburse me?
The last time I did this flight it was $1200.
These are all in Canadian funds. Won.... $2000 is about 2.2 million won.
Thanks |

Sorry, I just checked for this Sunday and the flights are $800 cheaper.
Still, if anyone knows how much I can be reimbursed, that'd be awesome. |

Just wondering where you're checking the prices? |

I've been using Expedia. If there is a better place, I'm happy to hear about it. Expedia has gotten me much better results than travel agents thus far. |

In answer to your question... At this point I don't think there's a limit, but if you submit an unreasonably priced air fare receipt, you may have trouble getting all your money refunded. They will check the average prices and base their reimbursement limit on that. That sounds way too expensive to me.. I know that as of next year, Gangwondo EPIK will give new arrivals 1,300,000 won to cover travel expenses to Korea... so maybe it's round that amount? Dunno... Keep checking |

Thanks for the reply. I thought it sounded like a lot too.
It seems that flights are much more expensive on certain days. Also, it's the holidays.
I'll be really, really upset if Santa runs his sleigh into my plane. |

Not sure about your program, but I also know (from experience) that SMOE will reimburse your airfare based solely on the rate of exchange when you purchase your ticket...
Which means that if you buy your ticket today and the won tanks some more, you'll actually receive less when they get around to paying you back,,, |

Interesting. I find the travel agents have better deals than expedia. |
