Bump.
Does anyone know if it is possible to renew EPIK contract by 6 months? I finish next August, but wonder if I can extend until the end of the school year. |

Try talking to your wrangler and principle.
Use logic.
"You only have have to pay my end of contract bonus and you can wait for six months before you have to pay my airfare home."
Don't expect the logic to work.
But try it anyway it will be fun.
If they seem to be getting the logic but are still balking, tell them they can hold the bonus until the end of the extension.
Then ask them about your raise. |

Actually, I was wondering if EPIK would be willing to dish out 50% of the renewal bonus if they will let me sign on for 6 more months. |

The only place I know of that routinely (almost exclusively, actually) uses 6-month contracts is a national university that I do everything in my power to discourage people from working for. They've been a place to avoid for the past 3+ years. A new office manager is hired nearly every semester because they can't "control the instructors" and "make them obey" the director's orders. The teaching staff is nearly 100% turnaround every August.
6-months or not, Kunsan University and little fascist running the place are a place to avoid. |
