The air here in Cheju is just fine.
Blue dots, sunny and fairly warm.
Glad I'm not in Seoul. |

Today is filthy. It would explain why I've been coughing lately, even though I'm out in the country. |

Today the pollution levels are through the roof in parts of Gyeonggido and Incheon !
Worst day of this calendar year (so far).
No red or orange dots down where I am in the far south, though above WHO maximum (50 for particulates, here is 78, Korean recommended max is 100, Incheon has 250+ today) recommended levels of particulates, which explains why when I woke up this morning my air cleaner was lit up with orange lights, working at maximum (I leave it on whenever I'm home, it being energy efficient the cost isnt that much more per month and I feel the difference). |

Link just worked for me at 938pm.
VI, thanks for looking out for everyone, but as I live in bupyeong, it's discouraging, especially after a heavenly vacation. |

Agreed. Bupyeong is a crappy place. There is too much pollution here from the factories. *Ugh* |

strange pollution pattern today: it is worst in Jeollabukdo and... Mokpo!! at 368 microns of particulate matter...
(coming from China a bit to the south this time)
the town I'm in in rural Gyeongsangnamdo has its highest reading in over a year (168 PM) today though it's less than a dozen days in Seoul, Gyeonggido, Incheon this winter
my air cleaner is on full blast and my nose is finally getting uncongested from the walk home earlier |

Ah.. that's better,... today it's only 36 for particulates here in the far south. Clear skies and fresh air.
Incheon, Seoul and Gyeonggido have SPIKED this morning into the 200+ range. I suspect it's all haze up there.
The WHO says 50 is the maximum and that every 10 after that results in heart attacks and other lifethreatening complications for the elderly, sick and cardiovascularly challenged.
Korea has a weak pollution standard of 100.
Today... 200+ up in The Big Smoke means you Seoulites who like to jog along the Han... skip it. |

I love this site. My neighborhood is consistently green. Then 2 kms away it's often in the yellows. Down south though, so nice and clean, relatively speaking. Gyeyongi is terrible. I wouldn't survive up there. I cough up a lung every morning as it is. |

HAZARDOUS LEVELS (look at the dark brown highest level warnings in the Seoul area today.... the pollution keeps rising... 300... 400 !!!)
In Gimpo and Paju it's 500+ now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

600.. 700.. even 800 in places of Gyeonggido .... 900 !!!!!!
Over a dozen people will die today because of this.
An incredibly awful day of pollution. One of the three worst in over a year!
The small town with clear skies I talked about this morning, well, it's gone from 34 to 140 in the last two hours and the sky is a haze
Only the southeastern most part of the peninsula and down in Jeju seems to have escaped this wave of Chinese pollution. |
