Here's a trailer for a new wildly expensive disaster movie that comes out next summer. Cool CGI...(semi) star studded cast...probably a total wreck of a movie, but it looks to have some good visuals, if nothing else.

I guess it's based on the old apocalyptic New Ager premise that says 'everything will end in fire and/ or advance to a new plane of existence in 2012,' because that's when the Mayan calendar starts its new cycle or something like that...far out, mon! Only four years to go until we get to go up to the mother ship and/or scrabble about for a last miserable supper of cockroaches and scavenged cheez-whiz, under a sky smoke-black with nuclear fallout, while the Four Horsemen stomp us into mulch. Wheeee!
Details here...

On that happy note, the adaptation of Cormac MacCarthy's 'the Road' comes to theatres next year too.

That 2012 stuff is going to be another great way for scammers to liberate cash out of new age suckers. Ugg. The next few years are going to be filled with a lot of woo. That said, it IS a damn cool trailer.

Cool trailer. I don't care for CGI laden films, but I like how instead of just providing a web address to promote the movie they say "Google search: 2012".

Yay another Apocalypse movie where America still manages to squeek out survival. Dammit! IF they are going to destroy the world in a movie they should just kick its ass and be done with it. I for one welcome our new ant overlords.
