If you had the chance to hurl one of your Florsheims (or other footwear you didn't care about) at George Bush, would you?

No, I'd hurl a grenade at him if I could pull it off and get away with it. He's the worst prez in the history of the world in modern recorded history or as far back as Americans can remember in their history. I have no respect for him. He should had been impeached 6 years ago and sent home with a negative balance bank account with no golden parachute and then he should be arrested for war crimes and tried in the Hague. He should also be arrested and charged with treason because he's a traitor. He really did a terrible job in putting all of us in a bad position. He's a heartless leader who wouldn't do the right things as he only serves the good ol' boys club, the rich lobbyists lobbying for CEO's and corporations to get laizze faire public policies so they could profit the easy, but unfair ways and even break the rules of capitalism. This leads us to the great fall of what was the greatest civilization of the world. It will be painful going from imperial super power status to broken and poor to just another country on the map like Spain and Cambodia. This is not the 1st time this has happened as history fundamentally repeats itself regardless of technology. What goes up has to come down, but it didn't have to be this way nor happen in our lifetimes. Bush phucked up majorly with hastily invading Iraq and letting big wigs get away with murder. What a paper machine we now have that is about to collapse and burn. Bush seen to it that the deck would be stacked against anyone wanting to just work and live a normal life.

too late! not worth the consequences now (broken rib, broken hand, interrogation hell)

but I would have done it IN A SECOND before the 2004 election, damn the consequences!

(i was a professional journalist for years in Canada and was tempted to work overseas as a stringer, but my father, knowing me so well, made me promise not to become a war correspondent, and as his only child i agreed, still owing him grandchildren)

I certainly would have heckled like Michael Ware did

I would never have the courage that the Iraqi guy had. But if I did, I would only throw my shoes if I was too constipated to throw a turd.

I would throw myself onto the grenade and smother it to make damn sure that Bush stays alive. It shouldn't just be good Americans that have to suffer through the Great Depression II. He should have to live through it and have to answer for it every damn day to the good people in America and elsewhere.

I can't say for sure but kudos to the journalist who had the guts to do so. Things weren't great under Saddam but if i saw happen to my country what happened to Iraq post invasion, a shoe would be the very least i'd throw at the man most single handedly responsible for it. Intellectual diaspora, constant state of fear, social and economic chaos, rampant looting of historical and economic wealth, abu ghraib....we sure have done a bang up job there. Oh, but they did get to have purple thumbs for a day or two.

Under Saddam, that man would have been introduced to Mr Chipper. No things haven't improved at all.

Bush's legacy is forever tied to Iraq. Should things in that country improve, he'll be considered a good president. Unikely I think, but then so was South Korea.

Seriously?

I mean, his presidency was lacking in a number of ways, but it was also lacking in this one, small fact: In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks,

YOUR HOMETOWN WASN'T BOMBED BY TERRORISTS!

He kept America safe. Let's see how Obama does.

Don't you think you're a little paranoid?

Gee, I wonder what terrorists would bomb in my hometown... a barn, maybe? It seems like it would be a lot of work to go all the way from Pakistan to Tennessee just to bomb a barn or silage wagon. We don't have to worry about the factories getting attacked since just about every factory worker in town has been laid off.

Maybe that's the brilliance of Bush's anti-terror strategy: layoffs and bankruptcies. He's staying one step ahead of the terrorists. The Sears Tower would've been a logical terror target, but the steady stream of layoffs by Sears not only reminds the terrorists that it's no longer a prestigious target but it also evacuates the building ahead of time in case the terrorists decide to attack anyway. It seems like the terrorists have a hard-on for New York financial buildings. Bear Stearns is no longer a potential target. Brilliant.

He moved to the left pretty quickly. Too bad he didn't move to the left on Afghanistan and Iraq five years ago.
