Whether or not he's guilty or innocent, I predict a wave of "he raped me" accusations against stars, with pay-offs in mind.

Sad to say, but I wonder if we'll be seeing yet another celebrity suicide soon.

I also see a wave of judges give no or lax sentences to truly guilty rapists.

If what the fruity-haired young man did was rape, then most guys are rapists.

Lee Jae-won went drinking with Miss A at a bar somewhere in Yoksam-dong (where incidentally the location of many love hotels and ajushi bars are- not for the cool, young and hip crowd).

So this Lee jae-won is cool young and hip???? Rolling Eyes He is a freakin' ajeossi!! Just because he wears his hair like he's still an 18-year-old pop star doesn't mean he's not an ajeossi! He was a pop star in the 90's. Now he's just a horny ajeossi.

That's f'd up if someone is accused of rape s/he shouldn't be allowed to settle out with the "victim." That should be a case that definitely goes to court, with jail time for somebody.

What I don't get though is how just a little while ago a woman was charged with adultery and is going to jail- because it is a crime and a detriment to society (not my words Confused ) BUT a potential rapist being let back out into society at large- no problem Rolling Eyes

Quote:
Singer Freed from Rape Litigation

Pop-idol of the 1990s Lee Jae-won of H.O.T was arrested on rape charges but was released when the victim withdrew her suit in an out-of-court settlement.

...

The Seoul Eastern District Court last Friday issued an arrest warrant for Lee, who was accused of having sexual intercourse without consent with a would-be star at a Seoul motel on Dec.10. Lee alleged that the action was based on mutual understanding, but the woman claimed she was unconscious from alcohol consumption and unable to refuse. Korean law distinguishes forced sex acts from sex without consent.

Could someone explain the difference between "forced sex acts" and "sex without consent"?

I'd guess in one case the girl says "no" and you force her. The other case the girl is unable to say "yes" or "no."
