I went to High 1 on Friday and conditions were surprisingly good. About half the runs appeared to be open with ice only on one slope. All artificial, obviously, but very skiable.Lots of folks on the beginner hills, not so many on the "advanced" runs. Very short lift wait times.Food selection on the hill lodges was poor, with only 2 dishes (Galbi Tang and Chajangmyeon/ Tang suyuk) available for about 10,000 each, very pedestrian with few side dishes..Coffee/Hot chocolate of questionable quality available only in a couple of small concessions near the base. Very expensive/average "scenic" restaurant at one peak with courses in the 35,000 range. Evidently there are a few places not far from the Very windy, and thus quite cold even though the temps weren't too bad. Very modern facilities, thought maybe a bit cold and underdeveloped yet. Paid 72,000 for bus/lift/rental from Daegu. Left 5 a.m from Daegu, stopped once around 7:15 for food, arrived at the slope around 8:45. Left Hi 1 around 5, stopped in Andong for 20 min for food, hit Daegu (and bad traffic!) around 8.

Thumbs up. Good conditions and minimal waits made for good value. Though the runs aren't too long, and there are bottlenecks where runs meet and diverge, it wasn't too crowded . A little foresight and imagination could have saved money on food (20,000 for the day) by packing gourmet sandwiches and coffee mix.

I'm curious if anyone has info about accommodations/rentals/discount tickets at the town nearby (Gohan) as I may head for a few days a week in the coming months.

C'mon snow!!
