Can anyone tell me where I can get Alesse brand birth control in Busan? I have one week left before I need a new pack and although I was told by a friend that one can find alesse in Korea I have had no luck. Is there a comparable brand (its a low estrogen dose also known as the mini pill) please give me any information you may have,
Thanks in advance

I might be a guy but studied biochem so... go to any pharmacy with your old pill pack. The old pack should have the hormone formulation listed on it. Show it to the person and ask for the same formulation. If you can not read Hangul, bring a Korean along. Most drugs, including the hormones listed on korean pill packs are just phonetic spellings of the western name. Thus, you can confirm what is given to you. god luck. PM me if you need more help. |

If all else fails, Mercilon is supposed to be a very low estrogen pill. Not sure if it's lower than your mini though. Mercilon is widely available. |

That should work pretty well while you are doing it alone. |

Thanks so much for all the advice, I did take my pill pack in and ended up buying Triquilar which has a much higher dossage than Alesse, I'm going to go back and get Mercilon or one of the other lower dossage pills now that you gave me the Korean words...
thanks a million,
you're awesome!

jaganath69, this may surprise you, but not everyone takes birth control to prevent pregnancy. And your method, while it might work wonders on you, is not likely going to EVER be a woman's best option. |

I found Alesse in Daejeon!
I was having the same problem as the OP, but walked into that random pharmacy (I had tried others before), and they just had it~
I could mail some to you |

I have 8 boxes of Alesse, new, completely sealed up that I'd like to sell.
I came to Korea with my boyfriend but we've since broke up, so I just have these boxes here, mocking me. I bought them for $10/box. They all expire April 2011. They're the 21 pill type.
Each pill contains 100 micrograms of levonorgestrel and 20 micrograms of ethinyl estradiol. It's a low-dose pill from Canada and personally I haven't had any side effects with them.
If you want to read more about it, here you go: http://www.alesse.ca/
I'll cover shipping. If you have any questions, please message me! |

Perhaps your ex-boyfriend will buy them for his new Korean girlfriend. Or, keep them until you get back to Canada where they might be useful again. |
