I'm willing to travel to any country in Asia.

Didn't you just start another thread asking about the Gangwon English Village?
I think that you need to figure out what you'd like to do exactly and then look into finding a job in that arena.
Do you have any qualifications to teach adults? CELTA, for example? If you do then it's easier to find adult teaching jobs in Vietnam.
CELTA isn't an absolute requisite to teaching adults, but it would certainly help. |

Since I'm a singer I posted the question about "edutainers". But the response that I got was so overwhelmingly negative about the job (and I really do appreciate the "heads up") that I've decided not to even bother applying for the English Village job. I'm actually rather shocked and confused about why I was was treated so badly and then ultimately fired from the hagwon. With all due respect to the hagwon however, I will say that they paid me everything that they owed me in cash and now I have enough money to go anywhere else in Asia, so I do appreciate any advice about other countires, and yes, I'd probably be better off teaching adults, especially since I have a CELTA. Thank's too all of you who have responded with advice. I'd buy you all a beer right now if I wasn't in New York City!
Air76, I tried to PM you a thank you message but I need 25 posts to PM |

You're not really going to get many recommendations/offers by saying "I got fired". I mean, why would I want to recommend you to my place if there might be a problem? |

I got fired because I can't maintain order in a class full of snotty and unruly 12 year old boys in a small, windowless room in a hagwon and I think that answers the question of why I only want to teach adults at this juncture |

I got a job at a hogpile and quit after 4 days. I was told I'd be teaching 'young high school learners'. And I was...for one class. The other five? BRATS.
I'd hire you in a second. |

Check out E.L.S.I. they are a big international chain that have language schools all over the world. I applied to them they gave me a ten minute phone call. A week later I got a ticket to Dubai sent Fed ex to me.
If you want to stay in Korea check out Pagoda or YBM. These schools don't offer housing but if you want to stay away from kids thats the best way to do it. |

Of the adult hagwons in Korea, I think Wall Street Institute (WSI) is better than Pagoda or YBM. http://www.wsikorea.com
What's ELSI? Do you have a link? |
