|
|
Hi guys, can you help me out on this one?
My external hard drive has crapped out. It still shows up under disk utility, but refuses to mount. Every time I try to verify or run first aid via disk utility I get an "invalid node structure." Am I totally screwed, as I think I am, or is there something I can do? Would disc warrior help? |

| Definitely try Disk Warrior. Do you have anything terribly important on the drive? Have you tried formatting it? |

Hey, thanks for answering.
The only thing that's on it that I haven't backed up back home on a hard drive and another computer is some music, so there's nothing that I can't recover eventually.
I'll try disc warrior this week.
Any ideas I should try in the mean time? I bought a new cable and that did squat. I'm out of my meager bag of mac tricks that I know of. I can't even restructure the damn thing to get it working again.
The hard drive is still under warranty, and the tech guy over there recommended that I hook it up to another mac to see if it'll work. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone with a mac in korea. I live in Incheon, do you know of any licensed mac retailers that would honor my apple care that might be able to help? |

If you go to an Apple reseller, maybe they'll let you try to use it on one of their demo machines. Unless they're a bunch of pricks, I don't see why they wouldn't.

Hey, thanks. A lot.
Do you know where I can find directions to the nearest apple reseller here? I'm in Incheon. |
