I referred a poster to my recruiter and she was hired. My recruiter said no referral fee for me..because..she is not getting any money from the ps who hired my friend..and ...that because she was my friend..she did not feel the need for giving me any of the fee..

any comments on this?

Sorry, but I agree with your friend - If you want to be a recruiter, become a recruiter. Referring acquaintances to other acquaintances, no matter what their job, doesn't come with funding.

The recruiter is just that...she asked if I could find someone to take the job..so , I gave her my friend's info. My friend got hired. My friend thought the recruiter would give me a referral fee for introducing my friend to her and who got the job. Must have misunderstood things then.

If you didn't have anything worked out in advance then you get nothing.

Next time try to make a deal in advance, obviously the recruiter earned $$$

Anyone know how much recruiters get for placing a FT, and how much they make when they post these private ads for like 40K/hr? Are they actually charging the client 60K per hour, giving us 40, and taking 20?

It's bad enough being lied to, but then she calls you 'friend.' Tssh. Wise up to her. Let her know that she used you and then lied to you.
