Can anyone recommend a place in Boracay? It doesn't have to be beach front, but within walking distance would be nice. I'm also looking to do some scuba diving or snorkeling.

I've been having shitty luck with getting answers from travel agents. After two calls Unique Travel has not given me an answer. I just called Ok Travel and am waiting to see if they follow through, but they said they can only book airfair.

I am going there as well and my parents sent the lonely planet guide. How much you want to spend. There is one place called Mike's Straw Hut that is quite cheap 20-40 a night.

I get the feeling that this will not be a busy tourist season so I am just going to look after I arrive. I actually I have spent 17 years just arriving everywhere and never had any problems.

I stayed at the orchid's resort. Its a two minute walk to the beach, very quiet place and staff is great. Its about a 15 minute walk to the busy tourist area. I dont think tourist season will be as big as before. Last month booking were way down. Here is a website. Email for special prices. The owner is american by the way. http://www.orchidsboracay.com/index.htm

You can get a listing of most of the places and prices from:
http://www.boracay.com/

The cheapest places are down by boat station 1 and on the back of the island (like saging-saging). The thing to keep in mind is that the island is only 800 meters wide for most of its length (shaped like a barbell).

Mid range and mid island is Nigi-nigi noo noos. There may be difficulty finding places during XMAS week (dec 24-jan3) but otherwise there are lots of places in all price ranges.

Thanks for all the responses.

I'm not going during x-mas, but I have the latter half of Jan and all of Feb off, so my dates are very flexible. Right now I kind of feel like I'm being fed bs by the travel agents I've talked to.

About what price for a ticket from Incheon to Boracay is reasonable? I don't want to get ripped off.

I got a ticket to Manila for 540,000 round trip and around the same time. Not going to Boracay though. Check out Xanadu.

Matt,

Thanks for the reply. I did finally get an answer and it looks like 867,000 roundtrip. It's the best I've heard thus far (most of the other ones have been closer to 1million). It looks like accomodations are pretty cheap, so I might stiill be able to go for under a million (with accomodations).

your flight is 867,000 and you are only going to spend a 1 million total- what are you doing staying for three days and only eating bananas.

I am taking 2 million just for spending money and still will have to budget.

2 million for spending? Are you looking for class A drugs and hookers?

No, I meant a total of 1 million for the flight and accomodations. That isn't counting what I'll spend in terms of for food, entertainment, etc.

Mr. Susan, good one!

Hi there,

Stay at the Lion's den, if the price is still low.

Comfortable, all you need and a hot thermos of coffee out on the relaxing deck each morning when you wake up.

They can store your valuables for you too.

Have fun

There are quite a few hotels all over Boracay...I tend to just show up, and the ones not listed seem to often be better priced and better deals than the ones that are listed.

Last time I stayed near Station One...another time near Station Three...I can't remember the names of either hotel, but I liked the Station One area a whole lot more.
