| Who wants to waste 80 bucks a night on a hotel in Thailand? 300 baht in a nice hut on the beach does me fine. |

I was curious if anyone had any suggestions of hotels/ motels/ hostels to stay in in Bagkok. There are several areas, and I want to be able to travel easily. I also would like to be able to use the bus systems.
Any help would be much appreciated! |
Okay I stayed at 'Green House Guesthouse' on Rambuttri Road (right next to Khao San road), in February this year. Excellent budget-type/backpacker accomodation, just what I was looking for after a long flight and bus ride. Nice service.
I also stayed in Swan Hotel, this was an okay place. Much less of a backpacker place though. It had a pool I remember, and all the things you'd expect in hotel-type accommodation. It's not in KhaoSan Road area though (not sure what area it was), but I did know that it was about a 30min walk to Patpong nightlife area. |

Oh! I also stayed in some place called Sawasdee KhaoSan Inn, just off KhaoSan Road and right next to the bus stop that comes from the international airport. It was like a mix between backpacker accommodation and hotel (they had a TV and fridge, and private shower/toilet). I only stayed there a halfday though. |

This place looked cool as hell and my communications with them went well. We could not get there from Krabi as the airlines were shut down so we stayed in the Krabi area. If we go back to BKK we will take other's advise and stay here.

In addition, the place is very much anti-sex tourist which suited us well. |
That place is pretty far out there. |
As in "far out, dude" or as in "hella drive, mate"? |
As in "hella drive"! |
