I have heard some wild rumours flying around about the demise of
this foreign owned bar in Bucheon. Things like:

-former owner caught at the airport with suitcase full of money
-property owner couldn't re-rent property because it was tainted as "foreigner"
-former owner's wife left high and dry
-new bar, Foreign Exchange, is the same as the old
-they have discontinued Alley Kat (my minimum standard for any bar I frequent)

Anyone know?

Dunno - when I was there this past summer I had a really good time and loved the food.

It always seemed like Lance and his wife were having it out. The food, movies and music was always great. His wife was a hottie. If she left him, he lost out big time.

On it's way. Christmas, unfortunately, is out as I have to be at work Boxing day.

Perhaps it's the competition from Rhythm and Booze, which has better food, a better floorplan and a better atmosphere.

Where is this place? I moved from Bucheon a few years back but have a ton of free time this holiday season. Canada Buddy's big draw was the massive burgers for 5000 won. What's the menu at R&B like?

Hey, I'm going to R&B tonight for the first time. If anyone wants to
partake in a pint of ale or other kind of X-Mas cheer, come on over
to our table. I'll be smoking a big fat cigar.

I'll post directions to R&B after I talk to my buddy.

I think I met you at Canada Buddy shortly after it opened. Sarah was the one that posted about the bar here first and got that whole ball rolling I think.

R&B is near the hyundai department store in bucheon. Its a pretty good place, but out of the way for me personally. That and whenever they have bands I want to wear ear plugs. Honestly they really need to turn down the amps a bit. I dont like going to bars and having my ear drums shattered and completely unable to carry on any sort of conversation. If they turned the live-music a bit I'd probably go more often, but for now I prefer FX over R&B if I have to go to Bucheon for drinks.

Ah, that sucks. Are there always live bands there? I like the idea of going to a bar and not listening to excessive noise.

Every friday and saturday night from like 11-2am as far as I know. I have no problems with live bands, as FX tends to have them as well, but the noise isnt as bad at FX. Whenever the bands start at R&B I normally stand outside the doors with my beer and drink there or go up to the roof.

If they toned down the volume a bit it would be soooo much better.
