CAMDEN, N.J. - A federal jury on Monday found five Muslim immigrants guilty of conspiring to kill U.S. soldiers at Fort Dix.

The five foreign-born defendants were charged with conspiring to kill military personnel and attempted murder. The men were acquitted on the attempted murder charges. They all face life in prison.

The jury, which was sequestered, spent about 38 hours deliberating over the past six days.

And how do the official American representatives of the Religion of Peace respond?:

The Fort Dix jihad plotters are guilty, and Muslim spokesmen in America are outraged not at the plotters who have ostensibly "hijacked" their religion, but at the officials who secured the convictions.

They wanted to burst into Fort Dix and murder as many American soldiers as they could, but it was all a joke, you see: so said Mohamed Younes, president of the American Muslim Union. "I dont think they actually mean to do anything," he asserted. "I think they were acting stupid, like they thought the whole thing was a joke. They dont look like the type of people to do something like this."

Unfortunately, Associated Press reporter Wayne Parry doesnt seem to have followed this up by asking Younes exactly what "the type of people to do something like this" actually do look like. It might have been interesting to see a Muslim leader in the United States engage in what could be regarded as "racial profiling," but it would, of course, have been far too politically incorrect for AP to print.

In any case, when one of the Fort Dix jihadists, Mohamad Shnewer, was in a particularly joking mood back in 2006, he showed a fellow plotter who turned out to be a government informant some DVD files: some featured Osama bin Laden calling Muslims to wage jihad warfare, and others contained the last will and testaments of some of the 9/11 hijackers. Oh, Shnewer, you kidder! Shnewer was ready to lay them in the aisles but good, saying of American soldiers at Fort Dix, "They are the ones, we are going to put bullets in their heads, Allah willing." Riotous!

One of the other plotters, Serdar Tatar, displayed a sense of comic timing that rivaled the side-splitting Shnewers when he told an FBI informant that he was ready to commit mass murder at Fort Dix: "Im gonna do it.It doesnt matter to me, whether I get locked up, arrested, or get taken away, it doesnt matter. Or I die, doesnt matter, Im doing it in the name of Allah."

Muslim leaders others who were present at the trial were not pleased on Monday that these happy-go-lucky jokesters now face life in prison. Faten Shnewer, Mohamad Shnewers mother, said of the verdict: "Its not right, its not justice." It was entrapment: the government "sent somebody to push him to say something; thats it." Entrapment seemed to be the line of choice: Jim Sues of the New Jersey chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), echoed Faten Shnewers lament: "Many people in the Muslim community will see this as a case of entrapment. From what I saw, there was a significant role played by the government informant." (Given CAIRs taste for attempting to silence its critics by means of legal intimidation, Sues is aptly named, and faces a bright future in the organization.)

A former Muslim chaplain for the U.S. military and Obama delegate to the Democratic National Convention, James Yee, expressed sorrow over the verdicts as well not because of the potential loss of life at Fort Dix, but because the convictions would ruffle American Muslim feathers: "All of this doesnt help build trust with the American Muslim community," he complained, "and that is vital if our law enforcement is going to fight terrorism. If anyone can improve security, its our community, but we need to be seen as trusted partners, not potential suspects." Yee knows what its like to be a suspect: in 2004 he was investigated for mishandling classified material at Guantanamo. The charges were dismissed in March 2004, but Yee was not exactly cleared: AP reported that "in dismissing the charges, Maj. Gen. Geoffrey D. Miller, commander of Joint Task Force Guantanamo, which operates the detention center, cited national security concerns that would arise from the release of the evidence if the case proceeded." Not exactly a resounding affirmation of Yees clean hands.

In any case, it is useful to pause and consider how Muslim leaders could be reacting to the verdicts. Instead of hurling reckless charges of "entrapment," they could be taking the hard steps necessary to clean their own house. All these years now after 9/11, most Americans still have no idea that they need do any such housecleaning even outgoing Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff recently told USA Today that "what were confronting is an ideological conflict with an extremist world view that I dont think is an accurate representative of Islam, but uses the language or hijacks Islam for an extremist agenda." Yet while Muslim and non-Muslim spokesmen have spilled oceans of ink since 9/11 asserting that Islam condemns "terrorism" and the killing of "innocents," without defining what is meant by either term, no one has ever produced any examples of authoritative and orthodox Islamic religious scholars rejecting, on Islamic grounds, jihad violence against non-Muslims; rejecting the idea that Sharia law should be instituted in the Muslim and non-Muslim world; and teaching the idea that non-Muslims and Muslims should live together indefinitely as equals.

Thus the Fort Dix verdicts give American Muslim groups who claim moderation to demonstrate the genuineness of the claim, or to be further exposed in the eyes of the public. Now is the time for law enforcement and government officials to call upon the Muslim community to institute comprehensive and inspectable programs teaching against the jihad ideology and Islamic supremacism. If they dont and they wont one thing is certain: there will be more jihad plots like this one in America.

Typical stuff.

I hope the bastards rot. Unfortunately, prison is just a place for them to convert down-and-outs to their cause. Maybe gitmo isn't so bad.

Also, I am very pleased that every news story I read on this calls a spade a spade. Not "youths" or "Asians". But "muslim immigrants". Finally.

Let's look for motivation. Might it have been a common nationality such that there was some underlying political grievance that brought these men together? Maybe they were all Palestinians reacting to America's oppression of their people and its support of the Zionist entity known as Israel? Iraqis angry at the invasion of their land? No such luck. Nationality fails as a common-ground theory given that these men included Albanians, a Turk, and a Jordanian. In other words, Europeans, a Turk, and an Arab.

Might it have been a common culture? Again, that does not fly given the fact that Albanians are East Europeans who have little to do with the Middle East or Arabs. Turks tend to distrust Arabs such as Jordanians and vice versa precisely because Arabs consider the Ottoman Empire a usurper of the leading role Arabs should play in the leadership of the Muslim Ummah.

Language? Nope. The Albanians and the Turk don't speak Arabic and the Jordanian Arab speaks neither Turkish nor whatever it is they speak in Albania. The only language they all shared was a broken English. We certainly can't make the assumption that men who speak a broken English are more likely to engage in murder-suicide given the fact that while this might be statistically true at some level, a quick drill down would lead to the discovery that Chassidic Jews in New York are as likely to speak a poor English as Muslims and after a thorough search, we have not been able to locate a single Chassidic Jew even accused of such an act. The same is true of many other ethnic immigrant groups. There is something more than language at work here.

What is left of course is the evidence. The evidence suggests quite clearly that these men from disparate nationalities, cultures and languages were brought together by the same doctrine that drives al Qaeda (Sunni Wahhabis), the Mumbai mujahideen (Sunni Deobandis), Khomeini-faithful Iranians (Shia), Hamas (Sunni Muslim Brotherhood types), Hizbullah (Lebanese Arab Shia not necessarily faithful to the Persian Khomeini), Sudanese, Somalis, Indonesians, Nigerians, Bosnians, Chechens, and the list goes on and on and on.

So what is that Common Enemy Threat Doctrine that unites these globally distant and unrelated groups? Ask them. Don't listen to the apologists or even the "experts" who want to suggest that they know better what motivates these groups than the groups themselves. If you simply listen and read what the global jihadists themselves say, it is for all practical purposes identical: The Law of Jihad as articulated throughout Shariah's 1200 years of development.

In other words, this is not some modern 20th century phenomenon. It is not just the work of the Muslim Brotherhood developed in the 1930s-1950s in Egypt. It is not just the oil-soaked Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia. It is a war against infidels that has been waged since Mohammed came onto the scene and which has waxed and waned depending on how viciously the Muslims fought themselves in internecine battles and how powerful the Ummah was vis-a-vis the infidel West. Many scholars have documented this history and you will know if you are on the right track when you read what the Shariah-faithful themselves have said over the centuries.

When you find yourself reading what some "expert" or some "Muslim leader" or an academic apologist says they REALLY mean when they speak of jihad, know you are drinking Kool-Aid. There is a fundamental difference between being informed by the mujahideen who are doing the murdering and the Shariah authorities--both classical and contemporary--from whom they claim to take instruction on the one hand and the secondary or tertiary literature of the academics and "experts" that is just spinning another "viewpoint" on the other.

Indeed, the latter will tell you at the end of the day that global jihad is all your fault. Western colonialism, imperialism, and institutional racism. Of course, that is not the common language of the mujahideen. Yes, some will take up the Palestinian gripe or the presence of US infidels in Saudi Arabia or Iraq. But that is not a common theme. The only common threat doctrine they all espouse is Shariah and its law of jihad. And, you need not take our word for this. The facts as evidence exists independently of what we say. It is found in the polemics and political tracts of Hamas, al Qaeda, Khomeini, Dow Jones Shariah authority Mufti Taqi Usmani, and many many others.

That of course is why the Fort Dix 5 were convicted. The evidence came from their own mouths in taped conversations; from their own computers; and from their purchase of real weapons to wreck real havoc.

These illegal muslim immigrants have some legal muslim immigrant friends:

Egyptian student gets 15 years in Fla. terror case

TAMPA, Fla. An Egyptian student attending a Florida university was sentenced to 15 years in prison Thursday for making a YouTube video showing would-be terrorists how to turn a remote-control toy into a bomb detonator.

U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday said the public needed to be protected from 27-year-old Ahmed Abdellatif Sherif Mohamed, who made the video "to empower others through his teaching to deliver death, destruction and, at the very least, panic."

Merryday handed the maximum sentence to the former University of South Florida graduate student, brushing aside his attorneys' pleas for leniency and the minimum eight-year sentence.

Somali youth leaving Minneapolis to fight

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- The FBI and members of the Minneapolis Somali community say they want to know what happened to several Somalis who have disappeared during the past few months.

Many people in the Twin Cities said they suspect the Abubakar As-Saddique Islamic Center and its iman are influencing Somali youth to become jihadists in an Islamic holy war overseas, or possibly in the United States, a charge the mosque denies, USA Today reported Friday.

"They are very powerful, whoever got into his mind and got him to do this," says the grandmother of one person who disappeared and eventually called her from Somalia. "We were forced out of our country one time. We don't want to be forced out of here."

Community activist Abdizirak Bihi says all of the youth who disappeared were raised by single mothers and spent a lot of time at the mosque.

"We are wanting the government and politicians to investigate who is responsible for sending our kids and we are requesting the American government to help us to get back our kids." Bihi said.

FBI Special Agent E.K. Wilson of the Minneapolis office wouldn't tell USA Today whether his agency is investigating the mosque, but said the agency knows that Muslims have been going overseas to fight.

"We're aware that a number of Somali men have traveled from around the United States, including Minneapolis, to potentially fight overseas," Wilson said.

I suppose there is no difference between young "American" men joining the Army and joining the jihad.

BURNSVILLE, Minn. (FOX 9)One of the five men suspected to be a suicide bomber who killed himself and 29 others last October in Somalia, was buried Wednesday at a Burnsville Cemetery.

FOX 9 has learned DNA tests have confirmed Shirwa Ahmed was one of five suicide bombers who killed himself and 29 others last October in northern Somalia.

He is also a Minnesotan and a naturalized U.S. citizen.

The FBI helped return Ahmed's remains to his family.

MN Man Possibly Behind Recruiting Somali Terrorists

An investigation into terrorism recruiting among young Somalis leads to Minnesota. Shirwa Ahmed of Minneapolis is believed to have killed himself in a suicide bombing in Somalia last month. However, investigators fear he may have left a deadly legacy of recruiting other young Somalis to leave Minnesota and join terrorist groups in Somalia.

Somalis' holy trip ends at airport

Two men from a local mosque were kept off a flight Saturday, and their lawyer blames "unfair suspicions."

An imam and a youth coordinator at a Minneapolis mosque were prohibited from boarding a flight Saturday morning to Saudi Arabia as part of a spiritual pilgrimage, an attorney for the mosque confirmed Sunday.

The attorney said it's likely the men are on a federal "no fly" list because they and the mosque have been connected by rumor to a number of missing Somali men whose families fear have returned to their East African homeland to fight in that nation's civil unrest or to receive terrorist training.

The FBI, which has been investigating alleged links between some in Minneapolis' large Somali refugee community and the strife in that nation, would not comment on the airport incident. The scope of any such links, if they exist, remains unclear.

Seattle Jihad Barber Killed in Somalia fighting for al Qaeda

ruben_shumpert.jpgAlls well that ends well, eh? Ruben Shumpert (aka, "Amir Abdul Muhaimin") has been identified as the American killed in Somalia a few months back. Crocodile tears. Big fat crocodile tears.

Back in April of 2007 the FBI raided a Somalian grocery store in Seattle looking for Shumpert. Too late, Shumpert was gone. Already on his way to Somalia to fight for al Qaeda's local branch, the al Shabaab Youth Mujahideen Movement.

Later Shumpert pulled a Hannibal Lecter and called the FBI from Somalia. He saw too many movies, I guess. In real life the fighters for Allah end up dying, get no virgins, and their deaths do absolutely nothing to further any cause worth dying for.

Fred Fry has all the necessary links and background to the announcement by the al Shabaab that Shumpert was "martyred".

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has learned that federal law enforcement sources believe that a Twin Cities man blew himself up in a suicide bombing in Northern Somalia last month.

The FBI and Homeland Security are investigating whether Shirwa Ahmed had developed a terrorist recruiting network in the area.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS learned that Ahmed came to the Twin Cities in 1996 and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. He was a naturalized U.S. citizen.

More than a dozen young men of Somali descent, mostly in their 20s, from the Minneapolis area have recently disappeared, U.S. law enforcement officials tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. All are thought to be associates of Ahmed. U.S. officials suspect most of the young men have departed for Somalia to fight in ongoing violence there or to train in terrorist camps. Family members of the young men are said to be distraught, trying to figure to out what happened to them, sources say.

So far, the investigation has not uncovered credible evidence of a plot targeting the U.S. but American officials want to track down all these young men before they can say for certain what this is or is not, according to ABC News. Sources say the situation is being closely monitored by senior law enforcement and intelligence officials in Washington....

I guess mass muslim immigration makes the recipient country a more interesting place to live. Glass half full, etc.

Good God! I thought the European country I am in right now had been inoculated by the extremist menace, but I guess not. Interestingly enough, we aren't getting the problem from Africa rather we are getting stuck with France's 'waste.' For fuck's sake, we don't want them. If France wants to have the perfect multicult society, let them. I really hope this multicult phenom doesn't catch on here. I'll have my beer and wine and drink it until well past 7am, thank you.
