Hey Guys,
Ive just been offered a job with Wonderland in Ulsan and was wondering if anyone had any experience of them. I searched Wonderland in google and it looks to have a bit of a dodgy reputation, but it does seem to depend on where you are placed as to what experience you will have.
Does anyone know about the Wonderland in Ulsan? |

If there was an 80% chance you'd be shocked by a doorknob & would gain nothing...would you still try to open the door?
Friends don't friends work @ wonderland.
If you ignore this advice, don't expect any support from anyone here after all the time that was spent warning others about the place.

don`t know about this particular one but just about every other Wonderland (do a forum search) have terrible reputations and are repeatedly on blacklists. I would stay well clear. |

I am actually currently living in Ulsan now and know someone who works for Wonderland. He hardly ever gets paid on time and the hours are horrid. But who knows, maybe there is more then one Wonderland in Ulsan. However, if you do end up taking this position let me know and we will go out for a beer sometime. |

unless you are a maschocist, do not do it.
no insurance (80% probability)
splits (100% probability)
kindy (100% probability)
It's just a bad idea and I agree with the above guy who said that if you do take it then you are not allowed to complain for the year that you are stuck there....
good luck and look elsewhere.... |

You are absolutely right. The location should dictate whether you merely have a bad experience or an horrendous experience! You might even end up wanting to write a book about your prison-like experiences!
Having said that, I have never worked for Wonderland so who am I to criticize? The only time I met someone from Wonderland was in a coffee shop about 7pm one night. I asked him what he was doing. He was sat alone, writing report cards for the students. He was still hard at work about three hours later... |

Wonderland has such a bad reputation that even if you tried to run a 'good' branch you should still be ashamed to operate within such a franchise. Ditto re: don't come back here looking for an ounce of sympathy if you're stupid enough to take a job with a Wonderland. |

I worked at a Wonderland and didn't really like it at first. There are some long hours that were hard to get used to. But I do kind of miss it now There is a 100 percent chance you will teach kindy. But those little kids are the funniest bunch of little rug rats ever and they respect their teacher. I really don't know what happens to kids between then and high school.
Also there are a lot of classes to teach. But remember that the classes will be cooking class, sword class, yoga class, and other such things as well as your basic English class. You'll be exposed to children of all ages. The later in the day the older the kids will get. So if you want to stay in Korea and teach a second year you'll have a good idea of what aged students you like to have. Who knows, it may even be the kindergarten kids.
Now all that being said it is highly likely you could find a better job but you could also find a worse one being that Wonderland doesn't hold exclusive rights to effing over hagwon teachers.
Wherever ya end up good luck and definitely try to talk to the current or ex foreign teacher. |

Wonderland are, in general, criminals. Don't hope to fluke a 'good Wonderland'. There are plenty of other jobs. |

Make sure to tell the recruiter it's because of Wonderland's horrendous reputation. |
