|
|
It's looking like I'm stuck living inside this little birdhouse they put me in so I'm thinking about ways I can maximize my space utilization. A friend of mine a couple of days ago mentioned the idea of a 'loft bed'.
I thought that made perfect sense so now I'm looking. Does anybody know where I might find a loft bed here?
I found several sites in the US that sell them, in kit form, but I'm assuming the freight would be cost prohibitive from the US.
And if nowbody makes them (or imports them) here in Korea, what's the liklihood of having one made (i.e. 'copied') by a Korean carpentery shop or carpenter?
Regards,

pretty good actually. no such thing as honoring patents from other countries here. find a korean to tell u where a good carpenter is, or check out the carpentery buildings at ur nearest university, im sure some uni kids would like to try. let me know how it goes.
...but dont count on awesome quality. like any construction or building progect in korea, its gonna get done fast, but half-assed. so hope u wont put anything of great value under neath it, haha. |

Thanks Peter. That's a nice looking bed. It looks like it cost 800,000 KW and, no, I sure don't want to pay that. 250-300K would be acceptable though and you info at least tells me that somebody here knows what they are.
The other message, about looking for a carpenter, is a good idea too. I have some Korean friends I think I could enlist to help me with that. And I also have a bunch of friends in the Filipino community.
Please let me know if you come up with any other info.
It sure seems to me that a good loft bed that can be assembled and disassembled would be something that could very easily be re-sold when one leaves the country.
Best regards,

| That's a pretty great bed. My favourite set up at ikea was a 270 sq ft apartment they had set up in the show room that had a loft bed in it. Not that cool though. |

I think you solved my problem. Three of those looked like they might do the trick. I've already got a mattress and a bed frame. I was assuming whatever loft frame got would have to match the mattress I've already got. I'll have to get one of my Korean friends to read those product pages for me to see what measurement specifics they have.
What's the deal with the javascript/jumping pictures? I can't believe someone with a website was dumb enough to put something like on an image of something they're trying to sell. It's virtually impossible to get a good look at them.
Thanks anyway,
