I've just received an international debit card from KEB. But the only symbol on the back is the Plus symbol. The ATMs that I've seen in the Philippines only have the Cirrus symbol. Does anyone know if the KEB card will work at the ATMs in the Philippines? Or does KEB offer a different card with the Cirrus symbol? |

Yes, the plus sign will suffice. But, in my experience it will only work with Metrobank ATM's. Then again, I didn't have a Korean card, I had another type of debit card that had the plus sign.
Visit the plus sign website (owned by Visa I believe) and they will give you a list of all the ATM's, and their locations, your card will work with in the Phils. |

Don't count on it working.
I've had a couple Korean bankcards...one of them always worked (prior to that 'law' that foreigners can't take out money outside of Korea).
Then the barcode stopped working, and I had to get a new one, I asked if it was international, they said 'yes'...I brought it down to the Philippines, and it no longer worked.

The Philippines in particular, as there are a lot of Filipinos who work in Korea and send money to family. The smart way was for family members to just withdraw it directly (same for other countries as well). But the Korean government/banks want to make some money off of those people, and laws were changed to do so. |
