As per the topic; how long did it take you to get your Alien Registration Card in hand. From arrival, or from filing papers with immigration .... just curious because I'm in a bit of a bind. I arrive next week, but I'm planning on going out of counrty for Seolnal (weekend of Jan 24th). But I need my ARC to apply for the multiple entry stamp (I think). Anyone shed some light?
Thanks. |

Should take a week. And then you need to get a multiple entry stamp as well. Make sure you get both done as soon as possible. Internet booking appointments and internet reentry visa are your friends. |

If you are at a hagwon, make sure your boss gets on it. At my first hagwon, I didn't get my card for almost two months. |

the standard is about a week but it really depends on which office you go to and how busy they are. i got mine in october- my boss and i applied for it the day my medical exam results were given to us and i got it two weeks and one day later. it was picked up the same day it was finished.....it could be one week, it could be two. assuming you have to get a medical exam first and get the results from it, it could take between 2.5-4 weeks altogether. its pretty iffy. |

Yu can apply for your ARC as soon as you have arrived, started with your school and have your medical completed.
The process usually takes one week AFTER you apply at immigration for you to get your ARC and passport returned to you from immigration.
When you apply for your ARC be sure to tick the box at the top of the application form for a re-entry permit (multiple) as well as the ARC registration. The combined cost is 60k won + 7k for the delivery fee (if you don't want to make a return trip to immigration to pick it up).
In theory you can have your ARC within 10 days of landing if you are prompt in getting your medical done and getting down to immigration to get your application in.
