Anyone here with any first-hand knowledge about teaching at The School of Language Education and International Programs (SOLEIP) at Gyeongsang National University (GNU) in Jinju? What are the working/living conditions like? Any feedback will be much appreciated, thank you!

If that is the uni I am thinking of they have two types of jobs. One type you get your own place and teach in a proper English department.

The other type you work in a place called E-zone which is a uni-won. You have to share a place with two other people. Those two other people will usually be fresh out of university.

You get paid 30000 a class and no pay when you are on holidays. My friend quit after one week.

The proper English department is not a bad gig. Jinju is quite boring, but the air is clean and it has good biking trails.

Yeah, I hear from a contact that the administration and supervision is decent at the school. It's a unigwon, however, and you'll be teaching more than 20 hours a week. Also, a lot of people are leaving to go back home and/or improve their situation. It's a stepping stone.
