Costco will be open Christmas and closed on Jan. 1st

Holiday hours from 8 am to 10 pm, and then closing at 7 pm on New year's Eve and closed on January 1st.

Ilsan location from 9 am to 10 pm with same closure for New Years Day.

It's funny all of the stores being open on Christmas Day here. Back home, everthing is closed except for a few minimart type places.

Most stuff is open on Christmas day in Canada these days... Christmas isn't really that sacred anymore.

It's no longer a statutory holiday either. You don't get paid holiday pay / overtime for working on Christmas anymore.

Judging from this, it appears that Solar New Years is a bigger holiday than Christmans in Korea. How messed up is that in a country where 50% of the citizens claim to be Christians? Don't they really mean Buddhist Christians or merely affiliates of the religion?

Yep, xmas still a stat holiday in Canada.

Boxing Day on the other hand is not. (except for Ontario)

Remember, Costco closes at 7 pm on Wednesday night, and all day Thursday.

It is still a statuatory holiday. A few of my friends got paid triple time for working Christmas and others recieved nice bonuses for not taking time off the week of Christmas.
