^^^ YES PLEASE!!!

I am in the boondocks also and the only western food available is corn pizza. And if I never, ever see another corn pizza in my life, I will be one happy lady.

Sour cream would make my day.

Use Gmarket to get things since little outside of basic staples such as potatoes are not available in small grocery stores and in smaller towns without a local Homeplus store.

Things like pecans, fresh salmon, pepperoni, coconut milk, chili beans, tortilla corn chips, salsa, sour cream, cream cheese, blocks of Wisconsin cheddar, Alfredo sauce, oatmeal, canned tomatoes, and many other things. Still no cottage cheese for lasagna, but noodles are on there. It's all very pricey, but you can get some things.

Why do Westerners love sour cream so much? That's all I hear. "Why isn't there sour cream here? I want sour cream" That shite is disgusting.

I have alfredo sauce that I brought from home. Very Happy

Should we be posting recipes? I have a few recipe's that I've been able to cook here and been able to substitute some ingredients.

If anyone wants, I know a few easy Italian recipe's and I can tell you where I bought all the ingredients. Not too difficult.

hyundai department store in apgujeong. 500ml or 1 litre mil container for about 10k won give or take

Korea needs good butter. if you have great russet potatoes, and minced meat like beef or lamb, you can make cottage/sheppard's pie

Anybody can make pancakes or sauerkraut at home.
Pancakes:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg

Mash up some bananas for extra flavor.

Sauerkraut:
Get a kimchi jar from your local ajumma.
Wash a cabbage.
Dice it, then rub it with salt water.
Add carrots, apples, whatever you like.
Toss in one small slice of kimchi for bacterial starter.

Place a plate in the jar with something heavy on top. The idea is that the salt will pull the water out of the cabbage and you want to apply pressure so the water squeezes out consistently.
Set it aside for a day or two.
Once the cabbage is submerged in juice remove the weight. Check it every so often, as it's flavor will change. When it's about right just scoop some into a container and toss in the fridge.

If you have an upset stomach, take a teaspoon of the juice. Believe me, it's fantastic.

Fry it up with some sausagies, boil it with apples and onions.
Strangely, I haven't met a Korean that likes it, although they do eat Hong-o.
