If you are new to Korea you might have met a kind Korean coworker who wrote out a few useful phrases for you. They might have written "_____ zusae yo" for example, meaning "please give me _____".
It is important that you, and every Korean on this rock, know that a "ㅈ" and a "z". Are NOT the same and never will be. A "j", whilst being wrong, is a million miles closer to "ㅈ" than the way a native speaker says the letter "z".
It is NOT acceptable to write "azumma" or "azossi" or "zu sae yo".
Anyone who does this from now on will be subject to a 10,000won fine payable immediately. Repeat offenders will be banished to North Gangwando. (And North Gangwando isn't in South Korea)
I appreciate everyone's cooperation in addressing this pressing matter. |

| Easier said than done. Obviously a /z/ sound doesn't exist in Korean. Obviously foreigners have trouble with sounds that don't exist in their non native language.. The whole /r/ and /l/ thing is much worse in my opinion. I got an email from my Japanese friend who said she will be in here Janualy. |

| I get really confused when it comes to romanized Korean. All the vowels tend to blur together in my eyes. If I need someone to write down something for me, I usually request them to write it in hangul. |
