I need some advice on how to leave my current Hagwon and still be able to teach in Korea. I have posted before about pulling a runner but the truth is I really wanted to try and leave on good terms. I have tried negotiation and failed. My only option now is to leave, I really want to give my notice but to be honest I am worried the school will make my life a living hell if I do. My contract says I have to give 3 months notice before I can leave, that�s plenty of time for them to get back at me for leaving. And to be perfectly honest I am not sure I can take 3 more months of this. Should I give my notice and if they pull anything shady I can do a runner? Do they have to give a Letter of Release by law or is it optional? What exactly will happen if I pull a runner before the 6month period? Can I still work in Korea? Does a blacklist really exist in immigration? The director seems like the kind of guy that would go out of his way to screw me if he could.

Any advice would great, thank you.

go home or to taiwan and come back when your visa expires or quit and do privates until your current visa expires... then get another...

don't stress. if the place is crap, get out....

So I have to wait until my visa expires? I've heard I can cancel the visa myself by leaving the country and handing in my ARC or going to immigration and explaining my situation and then get an exit order. Is this true?

I am going to try and get a letter of release but if they refuse I am not sure what else to do but leave the country and cancel my current visa then reapply. I am just not sure what exactly happens if I do that, I have heard several different things. I just want to be sure I can come back and teach within a few weeks after I leave.

Op. Yeah, for sure privates are illegal. Are you likely to get caught? Probably not. But the penalty if you do sucks sweaty monkey balls.

Your contract says 3 months notice. Labor requires 1 month. I think you would be fine with giving one months notice.

But, and this is a big but.....for your last month, do your best. Anticipate, plan, execute. Don't give anyone any reason to say you're a cunt.

Other than that, as far as I have ever read here, there is no blacklist. It's wishful thinking.

If you can't tell the OP is not an F-2 visa holder from the context of his post, then you have are a little slow on the uptake.
