It looks like it's going to be a bad year for holidays as 6 of the 12, or half, fall on a Saturday or Sunday; not counting Lunar new year and Chuseok because with both you get a long weekend.
Glad I'll be starting a uni gig in March with my summers and winters free.
- New Year's Day- Thursday, January 1st
If you have a nice boss, you'll get Friday off as well.
- New Year's- Jan. 25- 27 (Sun. to Tues.)
Nice long weekend here
- Independence Movement Day- Sunday, March 1
- Buddha's Birthday- Saturday, April 2
- Arbor Day- Sunday, April 5
- Children's Day-Tuesday, May 5
Nice boss may give you Monday off.
- Memorial Day- Saturday, June 6
- Constitution Day- Friday, July 17
- Liberation Day- Saturday August 15
- Chuesok- October 2 -4 (Fri. to Sun.)
- Foundation Day- Saturday, October 3
Same day as Chuseok
- Christmas Day-Friday, December 25 |

Man, that's brutal for Chuseok. I'll have to check my calendar at work again to see what I get.
I was actually pleasantly surprised at the holiday schedule at first glance though. I actually get a solid week off for the first time in my two years here, and a few other 4 or 5 day weekends. Not too bad for a hagwon monkey like me. |

Unless they don't pay you for the national holiday. |
