All the exchange rates are sucking arse. I can't believe the AU dollar is almost as strong as the CDN dollar. Also can't believe how weak the US dollar is lately. It used to be equal with the Euro!!! |

used to be ahead of the euro, big time. If we had all known we'd have almost doubled our account. |

When I first came to korea (march 2002), 1M won translated to almost exactly 500 GBP. I used to send a million a month.
Whats it come to now? |

For non-Yanks, 2004 looks grim. It's a presidential election year, of course, & Bush will want a weak greenback to try to hammer away at U. S. trade deficits. |

When I first arrived in September 2000 it was 1500 won to the GBP. By December 2000 it had bombed to 1800-1GBP. I've been waiting for 3 years for it to get back down to 1500-1GBP. It ain't gonna happen. If it gets back to 1900-1GBP I think that's the best we're going to get. I've haven't sent anything home in 6 months. Holding out like grim death!!! |

With the current exchange rate, i'm surprised that there seems to be an over- abundance of westerners still willing to come out here and teach.... |

I cant believe teachers are coming here either, they are obbviously not checking the exchange rate, I would think twice if i was coming here for the first time. |

I predict that things will start to turn six months to one year from now. In five years, you'll all be complaining about how expensive things here are relative to back home... |

Of course the fact that our ecnomies will have collaposed may not be such a good thing |
