I'm still trying to work out how to use my thermostat.

I have a kyung dong boiler fr-5. I found this http://en.kdnetwork.com/html/product/product02_04.html but it doesn't explain which button does which function.

Can anyone help?

I used to have the exact same control panel a few years ago.

From what I recall, the bottom-left knob is for the temp of your water, meaning the water you shower with and/or the water in the floor pipes. So, if you press the little button(white) above it, the floor water will heat up to the set water temp. You will also have a limited amt of water for use for dishes or whatever at the same temp.

The bottom-middle knob is for keeping the room temp at the set level. From what I recall, this doesn't work the best, but it may depend on where you're living...our last place was pretty crappy. Set the temp and depress the little button(grey) if you wish to keep the room at the set temp.

The bottom-right knob is for having the water heat up to the set temp in a cyclical fashion. For example, if you set the dial to two, the boiler will engage every two hours to bring the set water temp up to where it should be. [If you have one of those crazy roof water tanks, it may also keep it from freezing if you have this set to three hours and leave a little water running from your taps through the day.] So, set the desired time and depress the button(purple) and I believe it sets itself to the temp set on the bottom-left knob.

The uppermost one is for the boiler power.

The green one is for shower/dish water. Depress it whenever you want lots of hot water. It will come out at the temp set on the bottom-left knob.

Basically, keep your eyes on the lights. What we usually did(to save a bit) was to have the thing cycle every couple of hours during the colder months(by leaving the purple button engaged), but sometimes set it for four hours whenever it was a little warmer(not as cold in Busan anyway). Whenever we wanted hot water, we'd depress the green button and then press it again after showering.

I believe the knob on the far right is a timer for how long your ondol cycles on and off. It specifically says, "repeat time." Koreans like a hot floor, so that kind of setting is for controlling that somehow. Just leave it off and use the big center knob to keep it within a certain temperature (like back home).

I had this thermostat this past year and some functions are useless in my opinion.

I don't see the point in having separate gauges for water and floor when each one will heat up the other. This was especially frustrating in the summer when I wanted to take a hot shower and the floor would heat up.
