Husband Urges Men Who Slept With His Wife to Get HIV Test

A Canadian man is urging others who may have slept with his Thai stripper ex-wife to get tested for the HIV virus after she passed it on to him, according to a report in the Toronto Sun.
"I know there were other men she slept with," Percy Whiteman told the Sun on Sunday. "I am lucky that I was able to find out early."
Whiteman has presented no public evidence to back up his allegations that his former wife, Suwalee Imkhong, 39, had sex with other men.
Whiteman said learned her HIV status when she fell ill in 2004. She was convicted of criminal negligence causing bodily harm for infecting Whiteman with HIV and was sentenced to three years in jail in August 2007, the Sun reported.
Imkhong came to Canada in 1995 and was a dancer at the Zanzibar Tavern in Toronto until 2004. She married Whiteman in 1997. "She should have been deported a long time ago for what she's done to others," Whiteman told the Sun. "I don't think justice was fully served."
Imkhong faces deportation for having a criminal record and not being a Canadian citizen, the newspaper reported.
"She lied and she put someone's life at stake," Whitman said. "I've gotten a life sentence and I know there are others out there." |

How can this guy say that he's lucky? He's still HIV positive. Maybe there are good drugs now that keep a person's T-cell count high. The poor ba$tard.
I read in a book (written in the late '90s) that said that 50% of prostitutes from South East Asia are HIV positive. You're playing with fire if you get involved with a bar girl. |

| A Thai stripper from the Zanzibar on Yonge Street used to call me in Fall of 1995 when I was at U. of T. Her name was "Rosalee" and she was about 5', 2" and 110 lbs. I'll never forget the first time I met her at the Zanzi: She begged me to bring her to the U.S. after downing 7 B-52s I bought for her - one right after the other. She then asked me to go upstairs with her for a "good time." Thank God that whores have never turned me on at all! |

Okay, I'll bite: What's "gay" about talking to a female who possesses a bit of charm and has exotic, good looks?
A bit of context is, perhaps, necessary here. I was going through a protracted rough patch with my fiance, and a friend of mine suggested to me that a night out with my thesis advisior and him at "The Zanzi" would take my mind away from my troubles with the fraulein. He was right. I returned with the playwright to the Zanzibar one more time where I had a pleasant chat with Rosalee before calling it a night. Subsequently, she used to call me frequently before I told her that I was most definitely not going to be her "boyfriend" and take her to the U.S. That was the last time that I spoke with her. |

You beat me to the chase: I was going to thank you, Crusher of Heads, for the humourous quip.
By the way, The Zanzi was not really a dive at all. It was very clean, and the staff, security, and all of the customers were very polite to one another. |
