Can you get a record of employment from past jobs from immigration? I will eventually go after a couple of jobs I had this year for pension. Razz
Neither these employers or I paid into it, but I'm going to get it.

Even in a universe where time and the laws of physics run backward they're not going to give you money for nothing. Cool

No, they're going to give me my and my boss's share of pension contributions after I go to the pension office to make my claim with my share of the contributions and they get his from him.

Is that a long enough sentence for you?

Anyway, don't clutter this thread with your stupid fecal matter. It's a serious question and this is not a joke thread.

I doubt immigration would give you such a document. I would just go to the pension office with paystubs and your contracts to show them.

Immigration would give me something, maybe. I don't think it's at all necessary though. Pension can just check with immigration, etc. I've dealt with pension before. I'm missing a couple of contracts. Head office would do it.

You also might want official documents to prove to future employers outside of Korea that what you say about living and working over in Korea for X years is really true or at least more believable. I found American employers at home hard to convince when I talk about my skills, knowledge, and experiences; much of which was in Europe off the record like with Korea. They run background checks and don't find everything I'm talking about so I'm deemed to lack integrity enough to be hired. This is so true for ex-military and ex independent subcontractors as well as those who worked overseas. At Job interviews, you'll find you're talking to decision makers who may not know as much as you so they don't understand what you're talking about and then it bothers them that you waltz in boasting about experiences they wish they could had done in their lives. This is so true for military veterans and others repatriating going back out in the job market at home.

I too was hoping to get an official document from the Korean government showing my visas and employment history. There is no such thing as a global back ground check; only national or state.

Is this a short enough sentence for you -

"No."

i.e. One obtains a Record of Employment from an employer. Fecal matter head! Rolling Eyes

The other foreign teacher that just left my school made a form called "PROOF OF EMPLOYMENT". It just had one sentence on it stating his name, and the beginning and end dates of his contract. Then the English department manager teacher signed it and stamped it.
