I spent considerable time scouring the internet for directions to Butterfinger Pancakes a few weeks ago and then, once I went on foot to find it, failed. I later did find it but it was amazingly difficult due to the bad directions. SO, in hopes of clearing it up for people, here's the low down.

The Secret: Everyone will tell you that it's in Apgujeong, but, truth be told, actually the closest subway station is Gangnam-Gu Office on the #7 Green line.

Walking Directions:

Take the subway to Gangnam-Gu office and leave through exit #4. At the top of the stairs, make a complete 180 degree turn and walk up to the intersection. DO NOT CROSS THE STREET! Turn 90 degrees to the right and walk along the major street. After about 8 or 10 minutes of walking, you should come up to your next major intersection. This is known as Hakdong Sageori. Cross it and continue walking north (remaining on the same side of the major street that you've been walking along for the past 10 minutes). About a block past Hakdong Sageori, you'll see a Burger King and an alleyway that is right next to it. Turn right down this alleyway and you'll see Butterfinger Pancakes on the left. Super Easy!

Bus Directions:

Take the subway to Gangnam-Gu office and leave through exit #4. At the top of the stairs, make a complete 180 degree turn and walk up to the intersection. DO NOT CROSS THE STREET! Turn 90 degrees to the right and walk along the major street. Within a few feet, you should see a bus stop. Board the #301 bus here. After a minute or so on the bus, you'll come to the first major intersection. This intersection is known as Hakdong Sageori. Exit the bus IMMEDIATELY after Hakdong Sageori. As you exit the bus, you'll see a Burger King and an alleyway that is right next to it. Turn down this alleyway and you'll see Butterfinger Pancakes on the left. Super Easy!

Like you said, it isn't in Apgujeong. Why the title thread contradicting that?

Because every scrap of info on the place whether on the internet or elsewhere and every single person knowledgeable about the place ALWAYS identifies it with Apgujeong. Why? I don't know!

Actually, that area IS what most people consider Apkujeong since it has all the clubs, restaurants, etc. associated with that area. Apkujeong station is far from it, yeah, but the area around there is just the outskirts of Apku, really.

Hope the pancakes were worth it, I heard they charge over 10,000 for a plate of hotcakes. That's sh*t ain't right. I've seen the place before. For those who know the area, it's in the alley that used to run uphill to the left of where California Fitness used to be and where Starbucks still is.

Apku station is actually in Sinsa-dong address-wise. I get what you are saying though.

Most people associate Apgujeong with Sinsa, Hakdong, etc...

Yes, when people say Apgujeong, they aren't referring to the area around Apgujeong station. Technically, Butterfinger Pancakes is in Cheongdam-dong but many people will say Apgu anyway.

For sure, I lived in that area for nearly three years and was always guilty of directing people meeting me that we were meeting in Apgujeong (whether it was Apgu, Sinsa, Hakdong, Cheongdam, etc...)

To say that a place near Hakdong station is in Apgujeong is way off base.

They have just opened a new branch next to Burger King in Gangnam.

If you come out of exit 6 of Gangnam Stn and take the first left, it's just another 50yrds down on the left.

I'd say that the food was quite good but it was overpriced.

It's good, but pricey and the name is really stupid.

I totally read that as "buttfinger pancakes" at first glance. I'm drunk and going to bed now.

I went there last night and it was fabulous, albeit overpriced. If you were an IHOP or Denny's fanatic at home, then you owe it to yourself to check out. If not, well, each to his own.

I like The Waffle Factory near Haebangchong a little better... It's kind of a cheesy knock off of the Butterfinger place in decor but the food is better. It's just a few steps north of Taco Chii Chili...Which totaly blows by the way.
