| I want to remove the thing entirely from my harddrive. Any advice? |

| This is one area where macs kick ass over a pc. All you need to do is drag the messenger icon over to the trash can and put it in. or you can find a product called apdelete. its a free product and cleans out some of the assorted files. |

yeah, on my pc it is beyond difficult to delete messenger....all i have to do is right click, choose uninstall and it is done. the amount of effort that took i tell you  |

No its not, Add Remove Programs / Windows Components / Windows Messenger.....couldnt be easier. and the 'new' msn is part of windows live which is removed through standard Add Remove list.... |

| you left out how to get to add remove programs though. that's about another four steps too. |
