Was enjoying a delicious feed of 'Chickencass' at my favourite doncass restaurant yesterday. I noticed this adjossi looking at me from another table. He stared at me from time to time but I didn't take much notice, (I'm a foreigner in Korea, when DON'T you get stared at after all?). After I finished my meal I paid the restaurant owner at the counter and left.

I was just a little way down the street when I heard a loud "YAH!" behind me. Didn't take much notice, (thought it must be some Korean father addressing his son or daughter or something). A couple of seconds later another bark, YAH!" I turned around and saw the adjossi from the restaurant approaching me. "PASSPORT!.....PASSPORT"!, he shouted again. "Who are you??", I said in my best broken Korean. "PASSPORT!, PASSPORT"!!, he barked back. At this point I was kindof shocked. "Why should I give you my passport?", I replied and turned and continued walking, trying to ignore the situation.

He then ran up right behind me and put his hand on my shoulder, "PASSPORT!, CHIGUM!, CHIGUM!!, he howled in my face. At this point I started to lose it and told him in no uncertain terms to get the f@#k out of my face. Again I attempted to walk away. This time he grabbed my arm and shouted "CALLSIGN!, CALLSIGN CHUSEO!! He then took a handphone out of his pocket and beckoned me to sit down at the stairs in front of a shop. By this time I had lost it 100% and pushed him hard on his shoulder. He stumbled back a couple of steps and then waved his handphone in my face. "CALLSIGN!, CALLSIGN!, CALLSIGN!!, he screamed.

Now I was literally fuming. I was just aching to lay this dickhead out flat. Luckily for me (and him!!), good sense took over and I turned and walked around the next corner still steaming mad but leaving him standing on the street waving his stoopid handphone.

Unbelievable!

Korea Sparkling......!

Since you asked, I've never been stared at (except by young women).

Actually it's weird looking people that get stared at by everyone in Korea, it's not like westerners are hard to spot in areas like Seoul. Don't project your insecurities onto me fat boy.

Bottom feeders. Outside of work, I won't associate with an adjosshi 1 day older than me. Pricklys.

You could do that sure.

Mind you, you could also accept his thrifty gift and give Mom a friendly call. (check the time diff. first)

No, the good looking dudes get stared at by everyone. Oh well, I guess your not the movie star you thought you were. BTW, do the young girls take pictures at you and laugh uncontrollably?

No, it actually means he's boring as hell. Ugmos and "good looking" people get stared at here. Or if you've got some non-Korean body trait, like a big chest or you're fat.

He probably thought you were here illegally and that he was going to get a reward. Was the guy drunk?

Sounds like a real fun likable guy. He was asking for your name by saying CALLSIGN! Weird. I'd said, "alpha bravo charlie one niner." LOL

I would had told him to stuff it. It's the when you put your hands on me part is what can make me explode into anger, because that's provoking a conflict.

No way. This is the Chief Immigration Officer? What a wanker since he's not professional. You don't act like that unless you're a rotten loser. Usually anywhere you go someone misbehaving and provoking you would be some unhappy blue collar man jealous of you; not an executive. An executive who wants to provoke you will file a civil suit against you or just downright screw you in the banking/finance system using their computer or hire a law group who knows how to beat the pants off of you despite you having done nothing wrong or even pay the police to screw you.

Watch out. America is the most dangerous for bad law and finance tricksters as well as people provoking a fight with you just because they don't like the way you look or think you looked at them in the wrong way. Haven't seen nothing in Korea so dramatic like at home or even what the OP experienced, but older people staring at me with a displeased face and stopped cars lunging at me a foot or 2 when I walk in front of them as if they're annoyed that I went before they could.
