It was a hypothetical situation.
I can see this descending into a tit for tat thing, and why even bother really.
New year's resolution. Don't get into pointless discussions with people you do not like online. |

Where are you going?
You suggested that the Palestinians escalate terrorist attacks against Israel and now the United States because terrorism always works, terrorism levels the playing field, and terrorism will bring Tel Aviv and Washington to the negotiating table as equals -- in short, terrorism will solve the Arab-Israeli Conflict and put everyone in their place. You clarified that you did not quite advocate a 9/11-level event. But you were talking about city-sized targets.
Then you wanted to emphasize that you were not really suggesting this, you were just saying it -- or however it is that you explain this in your feeble little, terrorist's mind. JMO, you have such a stunningly superficial knowledge of what this would mean, and what would follow it, that it is almost embarrassing to listen to you talk about it and then backpeddle.
That will be all. |

A better new year's resolution would be "Think before posting" This not only makes one's posts clearer, it also limits said "pointless discussions" as presumably your thinking has led to some points that you wish to make. And just as presumably your points will lead to posts that on sober second thought you do not wish to delete. |

Gazan civilians are feeling betrayed by Hamas.

Fatah is still in power on the West Bank.

Just to clarify.
I said, that terrorism does work.
I also said that it looks to be Hamas' best option.
If anyone is incapable of understanding that you can suggest that terrorism is the best option for a group to achieve their political goals whilst at the same time not advocating such acts, then they are weak minded.
I'll take this time to correct one small aspect of his rant above because this already has me agravated. I'll just bold where he mis represented my position.

*it would give hamas a better chance of achieving their goals. it's not a magic bullet.
*i didn't mention city sized targets. targets in cities. 911 is scary but it isn't really repeatable. people are not really scared of terrorism until every unattended bag outside a school could be a bomb.
I'm from northern ireland. I have witnessed in my lifetime that terrorism does achieve goals if not the ultimate goal. Margaret Thatcher said ' a bomb is a bomb is a bomb' but ultimately the IRA got to the table with clout.
I'm not advocating terrorism.
I know what it does to people, from my uncle's drunken rants about the steel doors in the area(to keep out uvf headhunters), the classmates killed or maimed in the Omagh bomb, the mass cards with 'murdered by british soldiers', the lorry drivers on the site i worked on when I was 14 wondering if a parked car outside the gate was taking down number plates..lorry drivers were targets back then.
My position will be misrepresented as terrorism is a viable option so therefore im a terrorist. That is not the case. You may believe so if you wish.
