I posted a list on this site before for many private academies that teach Japanese.
Please try to search for it... I will try to find it again if you don't beat me to it.

Here's a list of Japanese teaching schools in Seoul. I found it in Eloquence magazine. They all must be in Seoul but no addresses.

Aoyama 3275-1515
GLA Japanese 413-0061
Global Language School 539-0504
JP School 484-8515
Newcentral 933-1579
Samisa Language Institute 335-3241
Shinhwa Japanese 939-1582
Sisa (YBM) 555-1582
Sushi Japanese 569-7915

And don't forget to ad 02 before these numbers!

I'm interested in studying Japanese as well, but I would prefer private lessons.
Is it mostly Koreans who study at these places? They can learn Japanese much quicker and I would be left behind quickly.
Anyone know where I might advertise to find a private tutor?

I know quite a few Japanese people, mind you these are college students not professional teachers, but if you're interested pm me. Or if you are in the Bundang area I might be able to find you a real teacher.

For a starter, you might want to see what you can get in the way of an exchange student that speaks ok English.

I got to the level that I am finding the Koreans and Japanese that don't speak English and so it really is more intense. You can also do language exchange when you go to Japan as well.

My wife can teach you some basic Japanese. She used to teach one of my coworkers Japanese. If you want to get in contact with her, just send me a PM and I can give you her email address.
