Why is America the only nation in the world in which a majority of the public tends to support Israel's foreign policy? Do they really care so much about the lives of 6 million Israelis even though they ignore hundreds of millions of others who could dearly use their support? Is there any sort of imagined economic benefit behind all the ideological babble? Is it because their so flattered that besides ex-poodle Blair Israel is the only government that publically pretends to be America's friend?

I really don't get what such a selfish nation could see in it for them.

Two reasons that immediately come to mind are;
1) The Media
2) The extreme Christian fringe wantiong to bring about the Rapture.

Wow, that is a lot of misinformation! I can't tell if you are ignorant or just intend to slander, or a mix of both. I'll go with uninformed ignorance with the the intent to slander.

Lesson #1: You really need to study the Holocaust. In the recent past, most of Europe tried to exterminate the Jewish people off the face of the earth. Those people went all over the globe to escape, but the masses of them went to 'Israel' or they went to the 'United States'. Those who went to the U.S., probably determinted to never have that happen again, got DEEPLY involved in the U.S. government and particularly foreign policy. They are entrenched there, and will remain there at nearly every level. This is the reality, and not that dumb ignorant white people just demanded the U.S. support Israel, and the U.S. government just blindly does what the ignorant masses say to them (as you seem to somewhat imply).

Lesson #2: You say that only Blair and Isreal 'pretend' to be the U.S.'s friend. The reality is that ALL nations have self-interests and do all things self-interested related. I suggest going to the Library and checking out any book with the title 'POLITICS 101' and open to Page 1 if you want to read more about that. Anyways, many countries 'pretend' to like the U.S. or 'pretend' not to, based on their own self-interests. As to only two nations on the planet who 'pretend' to like the U.S., and you are absolutely wrong. MANY nations do it, and look no further than your own country, Canada and Stephen Harper. That country felt so strong about it, that Canadian people stood up and voted in Stephen Harper to show their support for George Bush. Now that speaks volumes right there. I wonder how Stephen Harper feels on this issue.

The average American doesnt really support anything politically in regards to foreign affairs unless there is a hot war involving American troops.
The Jew lobby,AIPAC, is the most powerful and feared PAC in American politics.
Jews dont blow up American cities and behead people on tv, Muslims do.
Jews have actually contributed much to the advancement of mankind in the last 100 years and will likely do so in the future. Arabs not so much.
And Jews control the US media.

I put my serious answer in the other thread, so here I'll put the answer the OP probably deserves:

Americans are intellectual cowards. That's why they support Israel.

Why do you find it necessary to post two threads on the same topic?

He actually posted 4. That sometimes happens. It clearly wasn't intentional. The mods might merge them if you ask them nicely.

Yes, sorry about that. Why did none show up after posting hours ago and now there are four of them?

I meant Israel pretends. I think Blair truly believed the US was his path to 'greatness'.

As for #2, a majority of American Jews actually do not support Israeli foreign policy (at least not the expansion of settlements).

Actually, the majority of Americans, it seems do not take EITHER side.

Quote:
A new WorldPublicOpinion.org poll of 18 countries finds that in 14 of them people mostly say their government should not take sides in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Just three countries favor taking the Palestinian side (Egypt, Iran, and Turkey) and one is divided (India). No country favors taking Israel's side, including the United States, where 71 percent favor taking neither side.

From July, but I doubt things have changed for the better for Israel.
