lol possibly. I generally watch alot of NBA and read alot of blogs about it. The consenus seems to be that the big popularity drop has been in the over 30s market due to the whole 'hip hop culture' prevalency. I have to say the whole league seems to be tatted out. |

| The Canadians on their home ice were allowed to do whatever they wanted to do against the U.S. For instance, a Canadian player was allowed out of the penalty box with 5 seconds left in his penalty. |
Too bad I missed that. Of course the worst job I've ever seen officiated was the womens gold medal game in Salt Lake. Talk about biased against the Canadians. But the girls still came out on top. Yeah!
Hockey is just about the only thing that gets me patriotic! |

ive been watching the WJHC and i would say that although there probably would have been anti-US feelings, the american team only amplified the feeling because of their hot dog antics and cocky attitudes on the ice when they were beating canada 3-0 in the first period. Skating by the canadian bench with their gloves to their ears, and then again when the canadians tied it up 3-3 and were skating past the american bench to get to their bench, some american douche bag jabs the goalscorer with his stick. I know we are talking about kids, but, come on, very unprofessional. And, then the rant, by the American coach after the lost, only put the cherry on the top of the completely unprofessional and sore loser bowl of crap that was the american team this year.
i think canadians dont like the americans because the americans have gotten really good at WJHC, so we need to hate our rivals. But clearly, there is a lot of political and personal hatred at the games, for whatever reason. |
The several cheap shots by Della Rovere, et-al, from the opening face off and the crowd booing from the start of the tournament may have prompted Tancredi to chop the guy in his face. Tancredi should have been penalized for this cheap shot. Yet, Della Rovere, who epitomizes what Canadians often call "grit" but what should be known as dirty or unsportsmanlike behavior, attacked Van Riemsdyck and injured him.
|
i hate that guy, all he did was hurt canada the whole game, and yes, he does play dirty and this is not usually the way canadians play. But, when we do have a player like him, its not hard for me or others to admit he is dirty and shouldnt be on the ice at all. |

Or cars drive in circles all day long? Morons. Unimaginative morons who will pass a significant portion of their lives as spectators. |

Seen it? Or heard it?
I am from Saskatoon, and I have never heard us boo any foreign country's national anthem. We cheer a little, but much more for Oh Canada.

Insert typical Gopher strawman retort. Most sports fans I know abhor NASCAR. I consider it pure torture. |
