Take crisp new 100's for the best rate and least hassle exchanging them. |
Are Euros and Yen easy to change to Peso? |
They are easy enough to exchange but you still get a rate close the bank rates for greenbacks and 1-3% less for Euros and Yen.
Greenbacks are the preferred currency here.

If you have the time, there is a ferry from cebu to camigiun. it's a super ferry shuttle that leaves on friday and departs back to cebu on sunday night. buy tix from the travellers lounge at sm city cebu. free shuttle will take you to the docks at 6:30 for the 8pm boat. you can either get outside or inside (ac) bunk beds (one huge room with 40 or more beds). ive done both. there's quite a breeze outside so it's not too hot. in the ac room they provide a blanket. the room is freezing (like a victory liner bus), so get a bed far away from the ac unit or better yet drape a blanket around your bunk to stop the cold air.
the outside bunks tends to be louder, and the people tend to not sleep as early. some people outside will have chickens, etc.
i think the price was 600/800 pesos. could be a bit more, can't remember exactly. the trip is 12 hours leaves at 8, and arrives at 8.
you could always stay there and then take a boat to bohol (4-6hrs) afterwards. i think a boat from bohol to cebu is 2 hours.
have fun. |

As of now there is no direct boat from Cagayan to Camiguin. parras suspended service for now. they weren't able to give me a specific start up date but said prob in th enext month or2. The bus from Cagayan to Balingoan then ferry to Benoni was easy enough though. |
