I'm addicted to all these TV survivor guys. And, yes. I know large parts of these show are set up, faked or staged.........I don't really care about that. The TV show is just entertainment.........Question is.....who would do the best job if they were in the real deal!!?

Les Stroud..........Survivorman..........he seems to know a lot of basics, but I wouldn't really call him an expert. He seems to just struggle through. You'd probaby live through a survival situation with this guy but it would be a miserable time!!

Bear Grylls.......Man Vs Wild.........probably the guy willing to do the most extreme things to survive.....I mean....drinking dung water!!! But he could get you into a lot of trouble by his bravado. No thanks, Bear.

Ray Mears..........Bushcraft..........This would be my choice. He's the 'professor' of these guys. His knowledge of flora, fauna and bushcraft way exceeds the two guys above. He's easily the best firelighter and food forager.

Les Hiddens........Bushtucker man..........Easily the best choice if you're trying to survive in the Australian outback.....but that's it.

So, which one would you choose to be with in any given survival situation...?

Major Les Hiddens, no doubt about it.

He has the coolest hat, and comes supported with full sponsorship from LandRover and Fosters.

Which means wherever we are, we will be travelling in fully airconditioned leather-seated luxury (with state of the art traction control and hill desent features) and have an ample supply of aussie export beer (which may or may not taste like cat pee... surprisingly we don't actually drink it in australia...). I'm willing to risk the potential cat-pee beer for the option of luxery four-wheel-drive travel...

In any case, Les Hiddens knows how to make clothes pegs out of seed pods.. I bet the other wannabe's can't do THAT can they???? hey?? all their laundry gets scattered in a heap when the wind blows.... but not MY satin boxer shorts... oh no no no... not when i'm with Les drinking fosters

Not Bear Grylls, as he's a fake.

Yeah, yeah.....it's been well known Bear fakes some scenes......

........but I've seen dodgy stuff on Survivorman too. When he did the Lost at Sea episode he 'drifted' onto a very small desert island, like 70m wide, went beachcombing, and found a very handy metal cooking pot!! Suspect.......

As I say, these shows are more entertainment than anything real.
