|
|
I'm in the process of applying for my criminal reference check from Disclosure Scotland. I found out that there is a backlog so I called to find out the time I'd have to wait, explaining that I needed to go to London to get the thing apostled.
The lady on the phone told me that the document can be apostled from within the office and it wouldn't cost anything extra.
Can this be right? It costs 27 from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in England. Does anyone know if this 'in house' apostle would be good for Korean immigration and if its even the same thing? |

Safest bet is to go with the Apostille from the FCO. Korean immigration can be very, very picky about these sorts of things. Better to be safe than sorry. |

Its a dilemma now because I booked a train to get my documents apostled and now with this delay I'll only have my degree in hand.
Maybe I'll ask my agency and see what they say... |

You can always get a refund on the train tickets, or just change the dates surely? You can also courier your documents to the FCO in Milton Keynes, and they'll post them back to you within a few days....I think their intention, when moving to Milton Keynes, was to reduce the number of people turning up in person to get their documents apostilled.
Additionally, don't expect your recruiter to give you a definitive answer....with teachers coming from 7 different countries and visa requirements different for each, and in a state of flux for all, it seems that nobody ever seems to know precisely what is required.
My school is in the process of trying to bring a Canadian teacher to my school at the moment, and it took me to tell both recruiter and my school that he would need to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Search in order to satisfy Korean immigration's requirements. They had no idea....and guess where I found out about it?...Dave's ESL Cafe.
It may seem crazy that your recruiter and / or school might not be able to tell you what you need but that is often the case here.
Don't worry, your school is not going to not hire you because your documents are going to be delayed by a week or so. |

Im also waiting for my CRB from Disclosure Scotland, I rang them yesterday and they said I should phone back on Friday to get some kind of indication of how much longer it will take.
PM how long have you been waiting?? Ive been waiting about 3 weeks.
I didnt realise you could post your Degree and CRB to be Apostille.
How much does this cost??
Does anyone have there contact number??
I want to fly out to Korea next week, can I get them to post it to me out there or do I have to wait in the UK until it is done? |
