I'm sick and tired of hearing people complain about their jobs here in Korea. Sure some people have a shitty deal here, but if you don't like it...leave. This is what we would say to ungrateful immigrants in the West. Let's face the facts, most of us came here because we couldn't get jobs back home. I can't believe some teachers want to renegotiate their contracts because of the exchange rate! that is absurd! Many of you on Dave's ESL need to stop complaining and start acting like a real teacher... that means putting in extra hours with no pay and helping students out of care and not greed.

If you are sick and tired of hearing something, why do you continue to listen to it? Rolling Eyes

It's hard not to listen when everyone talks about it...another smart ass Dave's esler. This forum should be used to help others in need... not to post condescending comments.

It's called a 5-min therapy for people in this forum. People don't complain about their problems for the sake of complaining, they just want someone to listen.

So you have the right to complain about what annoys you in Korea, but other people don't? Haha. Maybe if you can't take the complainers here you should go back home!!! Wink

Perhaps this is the fact in your case, but this is a common misconception. A majority of the people I know here came for a variety of reasons, and not because they couldn't get a job back home.

I would simply like to see this forum as a tool and not as a therapy session.

If you feel so strongly about it why don't you start your own forum?

You do know the car is actually a Hyundai Genesis, right? Using an improper spelling of it as your username might give people the impression that you aren't too bright.

If we could cancel our own visas and get another job in Korea I'd agree with you. Unfortunately the system is geared towards keeping teachers in jobs they don't like.
