I'm headed to Bucheon at the end of february. I requested an area that will be somewhat close to Seoul, and am hoping that the city itself provides enough weekday evening drinking distractions/restaurants, etc. I lived in Japan for the last year, and enjoyed my time in the big cities, but hated living in the sticks with only one goddamn yakitori restaurant to grab a pint at. For those that live there, what's your overall impression of Bucheon? How long does it take by subway to get to Seoul? Thanks for the info. cheers

From Bucheon Station to Yongsan Station, it takes 31 minutes.

Or you can hop one stop over to Bupyeong station where there is a couple blocks of bars. Only one Korean dance club though... There are about 4 Western Bars in Bupyeong

I like it here. It is about a 45 min subway ride to Hongdae or Seoul Station. There are a good amount of places to eat and drink here. I find alot to do here and there a few good foreign places to hit up.

The trip to seoul gets longer and longer every time you take it...fyi. But there are decent local hangouts in Bucheon and down the road in Bupyeong.

Plenty of life in the city. 3 foreigner bars, decent shopping, and close to Seoul and other cool areas. Perfect place to live, IMO.

I teach in a PS in Incheon right now, and I can tell you that a lot of the people I met in orientation go to Bucheon regularly. The big bar there is Rhythm and Booze from what I hear.

I just go to Bupyeong or the Arts Centre. Those areas are fun. Check out the G7 bar in Bupyeong, it's the haunt for a lot of the PS teachers in Incheon.
