I can see it now, Eagles beat the Giants then go to AZ to play the Cardinals(after they beat the Panthers). It's payback time and the Super Bowl for Warner and Co. |
I've been wrong about so many college and pro games lately, who am I to say this couldn't happen? |

Which was even better!!! All for free!!! Simply AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please if you will, how do you quantify a serious fan from a not so serious fan? |
I spent the last 2 years watching NFL and college games on the likes of justin.tv and other sites for FREE. Trust me, it is NOT great when you see it compared to what you pay for on NFL.com (for the price of 1 night out for most people). I'm watching HDTV quality on a 19-inch monitor (full screen) with absolutely ZERO lag. I couldn't believe how good it was, because I have NEVER seen anything streamed at this quality. It is better than any 4gb game torrents I've downloaded from tenyardtorrents.com. If I don't want to wake up to watch the games live, I can watch them archived a few hours later with the commercials deleted.
I would say a serious fan is someone who wants to watch the game on a screen bigger than 3 X 5 inches, and not have to squint to see the time or the score at the top of the screen. I would also say a serious fan would be willing to pay a few bucks (as I said, less than a night drinking) to be able to see where the football actually is when it is passed. Just my opinion, and offering a suggestion for those who want an alternative to waking up at 3am to watch a poor quality feed from a free website.
Enjoy the games, everyone! |

I bought the playoff GAME PASS from NFL.com. The HD stream is AMAZING!!!!!!! If you are a serious football fan, this is the only way to go. |
I agree with you for the regular season and fantasy, but the torrents are good enough for the playoffs IF your team didn't make it (Good God, I'm a Raider fan) and you no longer are an intense fantasy fan.
However, still have to agree, HD game pass is the superior product (I watch nba pass and mlb pass as well, and they're not up to snuff). |

Yes, this statement is true. I'm a Packer fan (egad, what a disappointing season), and the playoffs do lose a bit of their luster if your team isn't there. I didn't mean to denigrate anyone's love of the game. But it is a great year for the playoffs as it feels more wide open than ever. |

It's nice that the two most hated teams in the NFL- Dallas and NE- are out of it. |

I don't agree that New England is one of the most hated. Why would that be? They have done very well this decade but I have enjoyed their success, mostly because I simply got lucky and predicted that they would go to the Super Bowl in 2001/2002 season after a not so good start of the season. I've supported them since, but after the QB man went down what could anyone expect from a former USC quarterback? Before this decade they were S***, other than the year in the 80's(Hall of Fame Defensive End Andre Tippet from IOWA - Black Belt) when they got killed by the Bears in the Super Bowl.
I don't think the Pat's are comparable to the Cowboys as a team to hate even though they won a few. Maybe you hate them because you are a Cowboy fan and the Pat's Tied/Surpassed the Cowboys in Super Bowl wins/appearances. Let me know? There are many more people who hate that Cowboys than there are Cowboy fans that hate the Pat's. |

If you are going to quote me PLEASE use my Poster name. Why wouldn't you???
Whether I'm a fan, serious fan, or NON - fan doesn't have anything to do with how/whether I choose to watch the game or HOW MUCH I PAY/don't pay to see games. Go sell something else!!! |

Personally, I hate Dallas. It's a third rate city with a bunch of rednecks, I hated Laundry when I was a kid and the whole "America's team" garbage.
I didn't mind them so much when they had Aikman, but my fav. team is UCLA, where I went ot school and he did well for us. Also, I kinda admired the job Jimmy Johnson did. Still, once he left I hated Dallas because of the horrible ownership.
But I think the hatred of the Patriots is a media thing. Bellichek could give a flying crap about the media, and they constantly whine about that. They know he's a great coach, and they know he thinks they're a bunch of morons. So they resent him. And I actually kinda of like that.
The worst thing, however, that could have happened, was that both Eli and Peyton made the super bowl, and then we would have had 2 weeks of media hype about "The Manning Bowl". Thank god that didn't happen.
If Brandon Jacobs is totally healthy, I like the Giants. If not, I'd put my money on the Ravens. |

Dude, chill pill. Oops, forgot to post your name again! haha.
With this much anger I guess your team didn't make it to the playoffs either. |

Chill out isn't any different than one of the most common Korean responses. Have you ever heard of "Calm down?" Hey "DUDE," I'm calm so don't worry. BTW, are you Korean? If you would read the thread that you post on then maybe(?) you would know about what my team might be but maybe you have a hard time with reading comprehension? |

buymybook,
Look, I offered a suggestion for a way for people to watch the games, that's all. You got offended because I made on innoculous statement about "real fans." Then you asked me to define what I meant by that, and you got more offended.
I don't care how you or anyone else watches the games. If people want to watch it for free, you gave them that option... great. After watching both streams (which you haven't), I simply said there was a difference in the quality. I enjoy watching the games here in Korea with my friends, which means I'm looking for something of better quality. I'm not looking to pick a fight with you. I came on this thread to be helpful. If you read my 3rd post on this thread you would see where I said I had no intention of denigrating anyone's love of the game.
I never attacked you personally in this thread. I disagreed with you about the quality of free streams being "Awesome." You seem to have been offended my my very first post, which was never directed at you. And now you are attacking me personally. Look, I'm sorry if I offended you in some way. But really...let's just watch some football. Life is stressful enough in Korea without getting stupid over the NFL playoffs! That is unless you are a hated Patriots fan... (just messing with you, man).
Your Pats went to the Super Bowl in the mid-'90's as well, where they were beaten by my Packers. So they've had pretty decent success in every decade compared to most NFL teams. I do think more people hate Dallas, but people tend to become jealous and hate successful dynasties, especially when they are arrogant (like your coach has a tendency/a right to be), and when they get caught for cheating (that whole illegal videotaping thing). |
