I only have 300thousand won and I need the best suit I can find for that price. Any suggestions for tailors?

I can't buy it off the rack since i'm six three with wide shoulders.

For that, you can get some bespoke polyester thing in Itaewon. Probably shiny and with a pink tie as "service".

If you could up your budget to 400,000 won, you could at least find a "decent" suit. In Itaewon, check out Hahn's. Might do a suit for 400,000 won but I'm not sure. Or you can check Savile Row which is next to Hahn's and a bit cheaper. Make sure you get fabric that's 100% wool and not some poly blend. The only way 300,000 or even 400,000 won gets you a "good" suit is if you manage to find one second hand.

It would be polyester but it wouldn't be bespoke. Cool

Ah, I miss Value Village. Five dollars for an awesome suit, if you have the patience and determination.

Savile Row--that's cute.

For about 300,000won you can get a good off-the-rack name-brand suit in America, if you're savvy and hit the clearance racks; just last week I bought a Michael Kors suit for 250USD.

I say Ebay if you know your size. Can import it and then take it to a cleaners to adjust it if needed.

That's funny, I was just getting ready to sell my suit on the forum. I'm about 5 foot 7, average build, but the suit I have is too big for me.

I bought it in the states some time ago, it's an Italian made suit.

If your interested, I can try to give you more measurements and details if you think it will fit you. It's a dark-gray suit, single breasted.

PM or give me your contact details if interested. thanks.

Marcus

Fashion Tailor in Itaewon (down the street from KFC).

i got six suits made each for under that amount, with two pairs of pants to boot

they did a good job, made a bunch of shirts for 40 thou a pop as well, and threw in ties each time

i've been satisfied with them, and the price was right

I got tailored pants in Itaewon for 90,000. I'm sure a jacket wouldn't cost 200,000. The fabric was decent. I wouldn't go to the Oscars in a suit like that, but the classroom is fine....

There is a place in Daegu that does shirts for 22000. I'm sure they could do a suit for 300 bucks.

I will be getting a batch of shirts and a few pairs of trousers done there soon for my new job. I give them a shirt I have that is a perfect fit and he replicates the fit with your choice of material/pattern..pretty sweet.

If you're planning on traveling into Thailand then you might wait until then as the suits can be cheaper there and of good quality.

Thanks for the replies! Okay, there is no way i'm making it to osan so I know Daegu and Thailand are out of the question. This is gotta happen in Seoul

Given that I think I will be able to beat my spending habits into submission to squeeze out two hundred more.

So with 500,000won in hand. Where wouldyou go in Seoul to get a nice well made suit that would be in style for years to come, but would not be something your grandfather would have worn. What would you ask for?

This will be my first ever suit so I am clueless. I want to wear it to job interviews, but once I land the job does that mean I'm wearing this same suit every day? Do people do that? Doesn't it wear out?

Sorry to ramble but I have no idea.

I'm looking to do this on Saturday.

No, if you have a job requiring business suit attire on most days, then you have one expensive wardrobe to maintain. You might see Koreans wearing the same suit or outfit day after day until it's worn out or goes out of style, but you'd be best getting good clothes that last and mix matching them.
