Quote:
The most-produced drug product in 2007 was Bacchus, a 48-year-old energy drink that includes taurine.

Quote:
Taurine is used as a functional food in many energy drinks and energy products. Despite being present in many energy foods, it has not been proven to be energy-giving. A study of mice hereditarily unable to transport taurine suggests that it is needed for proper maintenance and functioning of skeletal muscles. Additionally, it has been proven effective in removing fatty liver deposits in humans, preventing liver disease, and reducing cirrhosis in rats.

Korean health claims I'm always skeptical about. Kimchi?

I was given the impression the drink contained nicotine. I think this notion gained some currency in the ESL community for a while. But I think that notion came from a bad translation.

Yes, the Korean word that everyone was reading as nicotine turned out to be the Korean word for niacin or some such.

With all of the alcohol I drink here, maybe that means I should drink Bacchus since it helps prevent liver disease?
