I`ve heard that if you hold an F series visa (F4 in my case) you have to make retroactive backpayments on national health insurance if you start full time employment for months that you were not employed...... is that correct? Getting some conflicting info here.
I came last year as a student for 2 semesters on my F4 (had paid for Intl health insurance from home country) before returning home for 6 months and now planning on returning to start full time work on same visa (still has a good while to run).......but heard I might have to make 1 years worth of backpayments to NHI. wtf?! Even though I had my own insurance and didnt even live in Korea for a good proportion of the time when I returned home I have to pay this?
Anyone know the right answer? |

| I had to make back-payments when I had an E-2. I don't think it matters what visa you have. |
