Last time I was in Korea I loved this bar, Strange Fruit. Someone told me that it's closed now. Can anyone confirm whether it's open or closed? |

IT BETTER FUCKING NOT BE!!!
It's one of my favorites, although...god, I wouldn't be surprised; I've only seen it full once. |

I just went there last weekend.........
In fact, some friends of mine are going to be hosting a 60's/70's soul/funk/rock night there. Watch out for it in Feb. |

I heard it closed too. I tried to find it about 2 months ago to no avail. Any good directions would be nice. |

I doubt it. I'm sure someone just saw the song title and thought it sounded good. |

I doubt anyone would name their bar after a song title without having looked up its history first. |

Uhh, they do, actually. If you go into the bathroom the song that it's from is on the wall.

I don't find it hard to believe. you like the song you name your bar after it. i wonder how many americans, much less Koreans, know it's a lynching reference.
anyways is it open or not? anybody know |

Fits right in with with the Nazi theme bars, and Coreanna's ad campaign using Hitler to sell soap.
Why is it Koreans find fascism and racism so cool?
Maybe because they believe they are racially superior to every other people on Earth.

In case anyone (especially any Koreans reading this) wants to know what "strange fruit" is, here is a picture (warning: it is offensive):

If Korea were a real military power, it would be dangerous.
You are living in a country that believes that Blacks are the lowest form of life on Earth, with the lowest IQs, where children, when they see a picture of a Black person, laugh, and yell "monkey, monkey!!" These children are taught by their parents and teachers that they are the Master Race.
My guess is that the bar owners knew what they were doing when they picked the name Strange Fruit. Koreans are unapologetic racists. |
