Every foreigner in Korea has an STD. No Korean has ever had one.

ok, i'm clean and so is my girlfriend (pray and hope).

But, if so many k's have the herp, then wouldn't eng teachers eventually get it too? then wouldn't next years med exam detect it? and if it gets detected, wouldn't there be a ton of deportations?

and yes, she bruised my boys. but it healed like in a day and a half. and i think she's clean.

It's just bullshit. Don't believe half of the shit you read on Daves. You're way more likely to get the herp in America or Canada. Also most of the english teachers weren't getting laid back in their home countries, so they are also mostly disease free.

They don't even test for that shit. Even if they did test for it, anyone who gets cold sores would test positive for it. This website is worse than a Korean newspaper.

u have no idea what ur talking about. i just so have happened to be reading up on this lately. over 88% of the korean population has some form of oral herp. so much so, they purposely kiss children when theyre young to go ahead a give it to them... thats messed up. at least give the kid a fighting chance.

i was dating a girl, after 2 weeks she said she couldnt see me one weekend because her lips hurt. after a long, low level english conversation on msn, i found out she has the herp. i proceeded to freak out and ask her y she didnt tell me this. she said because its no big deal and everybody has it. that its very common in korea. i told her that may be, but foreigners view this as a dirty disease, and no matter how relaxed u r about it, it will never be "ok" to have it. i was then called an "ignorant english monkey" Rolling Eyes

from what ive read, it cant be transmitted if shes not having an outbreak. and i was pretty lucky my first 2 years that i never got anything. but god, it hasnt helped my paranoia about it. its been 17 days sense i saw her (the usual period for "if u got it, it will show" is 2-12 days, average around 4) and no sign of anything yet (fingers crossed)

but yes, ive heard hep is prevalent, and obviously the herp is everywhere. so be careful what koreans u get closed to. funny, how they think foreigners r dirty and disease ridden, yet they live with this virus that in the rest of the world is not only considered disgusting, but also shameful. just goes to show how far they have their heads crammed up their @$$

i truly have grown to hate this place. i cant wait to go home. for all u blind waegooks that r in love with korea and refuse to see how bass akwards life is here, i feel sorry for u.

Well put it this way. The hookers at Mia-ri when it was open (is it still?) didn't like condoms.

another ASSCLOWN.

88% of Koreans have herpes.
Yes of course they do .. of the oral variety (herpes1)

here is a stat on the American population:

Quote:
By the time they're teenagers or young adults, about 50% of Americans have HSV-1 antibodies in their blood. By the time they are over age 50, some 80-90% of Americans have HSV-1 antibodies.

did you breakdown your Korean incidence study by age?

fact is 85%+ of adults have oral herpes , aka cold sores.
this does not mean that everyone gets outbreaks and frequency and severity of them are different from person to person.

she was surely too embarrassed to tell you as this still carries social stigmas in our society (sores of ANY kind for that matter)

but don't worry... the choice is yours. You can choose to kiss, and get laid and interact with people, thereby almost ensuring that you will have HSV1 antibodies and an intermittent cold sore..

or you can stay home, play with yourself and play Starcraft.

if the second works for you, perfect.

That is so very true and makes this statement equally as ignorant.

my favorite was this comment:

Quote:

these are the same "foreigners" amongst whom 85% have this "dirty disease".

since there is a nugget of truth in this statement, it kinds of makes you wonder about the hypocrisy and stupidity of the "foreigners" in question.

His girlfriend's response is APT.

I'm scoring this

- Korean girl with cold sore - ONE
- ignorant english monkey - ZERO
