|
|
In response to recent inquiries I told my Korean (ajoshi) friends that I would charge them 30,000 won per hour. They think this is outrageous. I told them the going rate in Soul is 50-70 thousand won per hour but they didn't budge. I said that 30,000 was my price for friends, and the absolute lowest I would go. Was that right? |

They probably think English grows on trees. The going rate is whatever you want it to be but yeah moms usually pay 50-70 thou an hour. |

So you think I'm right? Is the girl in your avatar the girl from star wars? She looks bad there. |

Yeah, she's lookin' funny weird with that one eye or something. Not that she's bad, but one has to wonder why you chose that as your avatar.
Anyway, I was wondering about the same kind of thing today. It seems people use you for English here, but it's hard to come right out and ask for money for it. |

If I was angry that you charged too much for your private lesson, I'd pay it one time and then call IMMI on you and get a big reward for turning you in. That'll teach that foreign devil! |

Make it an even trade. Use them for free food, beer, parties, personal translating and as your personal tour guide. |
